Small car park with the trail starting just across the road. Through an area lined with bushes and stones which can be a bit slippy even with proper hiking shoes.
The pathways are well marked to follow as you see the mountain in front of you. There's a little bit of scrambling if you climb to the lowest eastern peak. The views are stunning,  a few more annoying midges along the way and at the top. (Early September) I had to resort to the midge headnet towards the end as stopping to let people pass in the narrow pathways they were invading my face.
The walk up was quite hard work in places but totally worth it. We took the path to the left on the way down which was less busy which essentially means you walk a full circle around the mountain. A fantastic walk and certainly recommend it. We stopped at the top for a bit and also to take a few photos and spent just over 3 1/2 hours in the area.
Just looking at the mountain itself from the bottom its beautiful a very distinct shape.

We visited as part of our NC500 trip.

This was one of my favourite stops on our trip. Although parking is very limited and the starting point is a little confusing but once your on track it’s fine. It wasn’t too busy when we visited yet the car park was full.

I’d recommend a stop here as part of your trip, the views are gorgeous and it’s picturesque.

A short but steep hike, about 5km round and about 450m ascent. Constant view of the summit and amazing view from the surrounding scenery at the top. The 'regular' top already is an amazing spot but from here you can ascend to the eastern summit by means of a short and easy scramble which is definitely worth the effort! Everywhere is described that the western summit is out of bounds for regular walkers and as far as I can tell this is true as there is no real path to the top. Lots of loose rocks over there due to corrosion. We only encountered about 8 people the whole circuit so also pretty low key! We also were so fortunate to encounter some wild deer along the path.

The car park is only small and gets full quickly, there is additional parking further on off the road, a short walk back to the start. The path is clear and well maintained. it is a steady climb until the last 500 m when it is a scramble well worth it for the views from the top. Take the other path down as it is less steep and not so busy but is longer.

Well marked paths lead up from the numerous parking places and encircle the mountain. The final ascent to the saddle top is quite steep and rocky with moderate scrambling required - well worth the exertion as the views from the top are sensational E, W, N and S. The east peak is okay but I'd suggest not attempting the west peak unless you are an experienced climber - the drops are big and sheer if you lose your footing. Only takes a couple of hours to get to the top and do the circular route.

Stac Pollaidh is the iconic mountain with a distinctive rocky crest. It's a popular hike, and the parking was already full despite arriving early morning so we parked in a layby. We had no intention of scaling it to the summit, but we got almost as far up as the ridge, and the views were good enough for us without taking undue risks. We descended via the same path back to our car parking near Loch Lurgainn. Terrific views over lthe loch towards Cul mor and Suilven.

This is a nice moderate hike that is pretty close to the NC500 route. I recommend going up counter clockwise for the best experience. As you get near the top, you can choose to go to the peak or stay on the low side. Be mindful of this. I recommend going to the top if weather allows. Once up there, it is not quite as perilous as it seems going up. The best views are on your way down as you round to the west side of the mountain. Going up, I was unsure if there would be much variety in the views, but I was not let down by views at all. On the way down, it got quite muddy. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes to withstand the heavy mud. The hike up is tough, but manageable. If you are looking for a good moderate sized hike on the 500, this is an excellent option.

A relatively easy and short asent with well positioned stone steps in many parts. A very well maintained path. Something of a hidden gem that one wants to selfishly keep for onesself but really ought to be experienced by the many. Breathtaking can be an overused word to describe Scottish scenery. This climb and summit is exponentially more than that.

Fantastic views from this mountain which is very accessible from the car park situated at the bottom.

Good path to the top, steep at times but nothing difficult.

It was very busy when we climbed it.

As always ensure you are properly equipped as weather very changeable.

A must visit if you're in the area. My husband and I love hiking and couldn't not have a wander up here while in the area. Well made paths and absolutely stunning views in all directions on a clear day. A truly iconic and rugged mountain. A bit of a scramble to the top and best view points, but easy enough if you take your time.
