I thought the slate quarry was a more than enjoyable experience for someone invested in learning about the history of Bellachulish. I would recommend that you don't intend on staying too long with smaller children, as the best part is reading the information boards which...More

This short walk is interesting and informative with information boards dotted along the way. Lovely pools of water with unusual colour. Must be minerals from the slate?? Worth a look if you are in the area close to the road and parking near by.

It was very wet when I went there, but still it was a great place. Had signs giving great information about the history of the slate quarry and how important it was to the area until 1955, when it closed.

Lots of interesting regional history here. Gorgeous scenery with fog and still water, and a nice cafe right across the street. Good for a quick look!

Drove by the quarry on the way to lunch and thought ‘hey, what’s that?!’ We later came back and walked around the quarry. Nice short signs explain how the quarry functioned, and its impact on the town. This is a nice place to stop and...More
