Uncommon Uncrowded can see Air Mauritius planes take off ✈🛫.
Good for surfing and puppies are abandoned there.
And is verry clean but dangerous animals lurk here💀😳...
Bo vallon mall is half an hour away .

LOVED the empty parking! Was clean, gorgeous, beautiful. Saw a sign that said "dangerous bathing" which is busted for me since I'm a strong swimmer: I survived a tide but got 2 coral cuts; one on my leg, the other on my toe. I advise you to be barefoot to walk along the sand. If you're a couple, for the sand, lay next to each other and affect the other. Bo' Vallon Mall 30 mins away for a meal. Good spot for plane spotters. Anyway, I recommend it to privacy lovers.

Visited this lovely pristine beach in the south of Mauritius.
Not signposted and along a dirt track which brings you out onto a magical wide white sand beach with hardly any one else in sight.
Sea rough and not fit for swimming but ideal to relax and enjoy the scenery.
It has public restrooms and seating areas.
Sadly planning permission has been obtained to build a large hotel here.
I hope it doesn't materialize.
It's one of Mauritius's best kept secrets.

We visited this beach several times in April and May - and also 3 years ago.
It is a very beautiful bank of sand facing the wild Indian Ocean with only a very narrow lagoon.
People from the local community and from the adjacent Shandrani Hotel enjoy the beach. It is a great place for sitting and reading or sunbathing or picnicking and playing. The hotel holds wedding events at the nearer eastern end. There are notices warning of strong currents close in - and there is no lifeguard.
Most of all this is a place which feels remote and where the sheer beauty is vivid and intense. It feels a special place. You very often see couples walking quietly on their own especially towards the middle of this stretch of sand.
However, nothing stays the same indefinitely.
At the back of the beach there is now a large group of buildings, some apparently almost complete. A new hotel complex?
La Cambuse is still a very beautiful place but how will it be affected when the buildings are complete and in use? What will the interface be?

Lovely, peaceful, so beautiful and came down here a few times during my 2 week holiday this April 2019. One of the days was really amazing watching all the locals enjoying a day here. Children were laughing and enjoying a sack race, looked liked the equivalent of a school sports day.
Sadly a huge hotel is now very near to completion and in my view although it will provide jobs to locals it will also take away the tranquility and special leisure days for them too.

Great day spent at la cambuse on two different occasions both times with family. My only issue will be the newly constructed road. The rocky path before was what made this beach so treasured and hidden. The newly constructed road makes the beach more accessible but very open and less of a getaway. But the beach in itself is still very beautiful and an awesome place to spend some time with family. The sea is superb for a swim or two or more. You got the trees to rest in the shades and the long of the beach to take a walk and even rocks to climb onto on the other side of the beach.
In short, a good place for family outings, picnics, walks on the beach, climb in rocks, even fishing, swimming and napping.
Worth the trip south

Drove to La Cambuse beach on Saturday, close to international airport .As a change from Blue Bay which gets very busy at weekends, La Cambuse is not served by public transport so is less crowded. Only 1 stall selling coconuts and drinks and an ice cream van. Spotless toilets and showers. Widest part of bay is fine for swimming but smaller area to right of rocks facing the sea has strong currents. Plenty of shade. Take a picnic and enjoy the tranquility.

Nice public beach with a big parking. Just about 15 minutes towards the airport from Mahebourg. I would say that the ocean is a bit more wavy here than by other beaches I have been to.

This is a well equipped beach, sandy and nice to walk on, And easy to get into the water. For normal swimming close to the beach, its perfect
For snorkellers, 99% of Coral is DEAD and mostly one type of seaweed. Theres fish . If you swim to the reef 150 or so meters out, it gets dangerous / exiting. Yo see some live coral, But the tide is super strong and worse than that the Sea Unchins are HUGE, And loads of them, Some as big as a football, With Blades not spikes,,,, Off putting to put it mildly Plus on the right side of beach , Near the reef, The current is VERY STRONG, i had to swim towards the rocks to get free.

Where are there nice beaches, sandy bottoms of sea with surf (waves) but safe and clean enough to swim.
Thank you
