About
There's no treasure but it is an enjoyable way to spend an hour or two exploring the narrow roads and taking in the amazing views. It's a 1¼ mile route starting near the main car park at the top of the steep decline down to the old town. On the way see if you can name the cottages with their colourful plaques, there are things to collect and questions to answer about things on the route. Points are awarded depending on how difficult the question is.It's free to download from the CluesGo website. The route also passes the beach where you can stop for a rest or a paddle.

Fun way to explore Staithes properly
Dec 2020
Really good explore, map accurate and easy to follow, kids loved it and we really felt that we had seen all of Staithes nooks and crannies. Will probably do the Skipton Clues Go one next, as we really enjoyed this one. Super that it was sponsored by the Fish shop at the top of the village near the main road, beautiful fish and chips and very friendly.

We often do treasure hunts as we are big kids really and this was a good one as it was free! It took us along little roads ad alleyways that perhaps you would not have tried without this and we saw parts of the village that were hidden away.Quite a few steps and climbs so not so good for the less agile. A good way to spend a few hours in the fresh air

Great free activity

Loved doing this. A fab way to learn about the town. My only issue was the map...not very easy to navigate. My seven year old raced around the streets looking for clues. Brill.

We downloaded the CluesGo treasure hunt before we left for our holiday, and completed the treasure hunt on the first afternoon. It was a fantastic way to make sure you really explore Staithes and see all of the beautiful and unique streets. Highly recommended for good old fashioned family fun to really make sure you get to know the quaint village!

Don't miss this little gem!

What a surprise this was! Hidden away behind an old chapel frontage, on the road down to the beach, with barely a sign outside, this little museum is packed with photos and all sorts of mementos of village life since the days when this was one of the busiest fishing ports on the east coast. It has rooms full of the story of Captain Cooke, the days when he lived and worked here and his voyages of discovery. For a tiny entrance fee,(£2-3) this offers much better value than many bigger and more publicised attractions. It was a total surprise! Will definitely go again to see what we missed the first time. There is too much to take in in one go!

Great fun and a great way to discover Staithes!

I downloaded this treasure hunt as, although we had been to Staithes several times before, the couple we were going with had never been. It proved to be a great way to see all the nooks and crannies of the village and was also great fun.

A nice way to spend a couple of hours exploring your surroundings, and you have to go to the pub for the answers - bonus!

great entertainment!

we contacted CluesGo to download their Staithes Treasure hunt for our 'weddingy weekend' over the 19th-21st of October. The quiz was well set out, easy to print and collate and for our purposes, easy to alter to provide both the longer and a more concise version of the quiz/info trail for our wedding guests (ages from 3 to 79)
All competitors enjoyed the search, got thoroughly involved and commented that they felt more inspired by the village having been taken round to see some of it's less obvious charms.
A fantastic way to spend an afternoon whatever the weather! Many thanks!

good fun - it kept the kids entertained for a good couple of hours, tired them out and gave them a full tour of the village!
