I visited Louth on Saturday and as a cheese lover and supporter of local businesses I popped in to this charming little shop. I was faced with a huge display of cheeses. I thought that I had died and gone to Heaven. I was given time to look at the display without being hassled and was promptly attended to when I had made my selection. I bought four local cheeses all of which were fresh and beautifully kept unlike some deli's. Yes, some people have remarked about the cost but, please remember that these are quality artisan cheeses that are made and kept with love. Quality worth paying for. If this is not your thing you can always stick with supermarket mass produced rubber. I won't be. I'll be back......soon.

Great to find a gem of a shop on a visit to forage Lincolnshire foodstuffs. Excellent selection of local Britsh and European cheese. Great owner who really knows his cheese and very generous with his time and samples. If you are within 25 miles it's well worth the detour. Oh ! and the pastries were scrumptious !

We wanted to try some artisan and less common cheeses and searched specifically for a cheese shop in North Lincolnshire that had a wide range. We came across The Cheese Shop Louth online and were impressed with their offer. But would the reality live up to expectations?

We hadn't visited Louth before so decided to take a day out there but principally to visit The Cheese Shop. We're so glad we did! The shop is small and busy but packed with all manner of cheeses, including some intriguing local ones. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about great cheese. They patiently listened to the kind of cheese we wanted to buy, gave us a tasting sample, told us about the background to some of the cheeses and we were away!

We learned a lot about cheese in our brief visit and came away with a superb selection of really great cheeses, each of which they carefully labelled so we could keep a note of our favourites and can buy them again when we next go back to the shop.

They also sell a range of other deli items, particular things that go with cheese, including breads, crackers plus a range of wines, ciders and beers. But what makes them distinctive is the range and quality of cheese they stock.

So if you want to try some really tasty cheeses - soft or hard; pasteurised or unpasteurised; strong or mild; made with cows', sheeps' or goats' milk - and want a wide range to choose from, then this is the place to go.

We found a few other cheesemongers that were closer to home (Doncaster), which also looked very interesting. But what sold us on The Cheese Shop Louth was their wide range, which the other shops we found online didn't quite match. If you like really good cheese, just go there!

Specialist cheese shop some amazing cheeses- local, regional, UK and further afield. Great window display. Amazing smells ! Knowledgeable owner / staff. The only downside is a big one - the pricing !! Everything priced per 100 grammes and 100 grammes is nothing !! So make sure you take ur debit/ credit card as easy to get bill over £20 if purchasing a few cheeses even as sampling portions when trying something new. .

Spotted the Cheese Shop on a day trip to Louth on a recent summer holiday. I was impressed with the quantity and variety of cheese and other products in the shop. I purchased a Goats Cheese, Chorizo & Chilli quiche which was amazing. Looking forward to visiting again next time I'm in the area

Today we visited and purchased two small pieces of cheese. One 250 grams and the other just over 100grams. Took no notice when paying other than using our card to pay. On our way to the carpark we started talking about the cost which was £13.00 for these two small pieces of cheese: nothing fancy just a stilton and a Gruyere.

I returned feeling a genuine mistake had been made. Nope, chap weighed the two small purchases and confirmed the Gruyere was £8 and the Stilton £5. OUR fault entirely for not understanding the prices displayed are for a tiny 100grams. NEVER paid that much for cheese in our life. Thought rather than call in the supermarket we'd use a local trader. Last time we buy any cheese there!

I have no interest in a response. It is what it is: I've said it was our fault for not understanding your pricing policy. It is not your fault you charge so much for cheese: the fault lies with us for buying it.

Popped in as the pasties in the window looked delicious and indeed they were! Ended up buying some egg custard and nice colston Bassett Chilton as well. Louth is very lucky to have this brilliant independent cheese and deli shop as well as several butchers and game dealers and a greengrocers.

Great selection of cheeses and a wide variety. A little expensive but you do get quality. Sometimes very busy and is quite a small shop
