About
Farndon Fields is an award-winning farm shop situated on the edge of the beautiful historic town of Market Harborough. It has developed over the years and today the farm shop showcases our produce grown on the farm, quality meat from local farmers, and a large selection of fantastic local and British food that has been hand-selected by Kevin, Milly, and the team. We love growing, cooking, and serving fantastic food at Farndon Fields. We strive to provide our community with an outstanding shopping experience and an environment to enjoy our local food, be excited by the seasons, and experience food that has been grown on your doorstep in Leicestershire, Northampton, and Kettering areas.

I have used this farm shop for may years now, and always impressed with the quality and range of the food. Fresh fruit and veg is second to none. The meats and pies are always so tempting (I want a barby every time I visit). However, it is all the other wee bits and pieces, the range of wines, pickles, that last minute present and even the 'wow' items ... I want one of them! There is something there for everybody.
The restaurant is lovely any time of day, gets a bit too busy at lunchtime, but only to be expected as the food is good, can be a bit pricey, but a nice treat as part of the experience. The staff (most of them) are very helpful, I just wish Katie on the deli would smile occasionally, I'm sure she is a lovely girl, but puts me right off my scotch egg :-)

Farndon Fields is always a favourite place of ours, whether it's just to shop for delicious food or to enjoy lunch or afternoon tea in the restaurant. It's also lovely to browse their range of homewares. The staff are always friendly.

Visited Farndon Fields farm shop to use a couple of gift vouchers my wife’s sister gave us as a present for our Golden wedding anniversary, I’ve never been a fan of afternoon tea most hotels I’ve eaten afternoon tea are a bit of an afterthought and highly priced at that.
However this is not the case at Farndon Fields their version of afternoon tea is of a different order perfectly sized sandwiches fresh home made scones just the right amount of jam and clotted cream, beautiful two bite cakes of a high quality sweet pastries made with all butter with a superb macaron, we enjoyed this with a nice bottle of Prosecco.
Would we visit again absolutely my wife wants to try the savoury version.

So the shop is fine, it’s a nice farm shop. It they have added a restaurant and now it is impossible to park for the shop at certain times. Trying to use the restaurant is hit and miss because it’s always too busy. Used to be able to book but not now. They have a woman who just comes out to the queue and informs them no more tables I’m not sure what you want me to do and is very rude. They could use a buzzer system or a waiting area but no just a rude staff member is enough to clear it. The younger staff at the weekend are nice and they are always happy I must say. But it’s just a hit or miss experience.

The shop was a delight. Loads to see and some wonderful pressie ideas.

However the pumpkin picking up the road leaves something to be desired. The larde pumpkins are £8 each - strewth. And for the honour of picking one of these large pumpking you have to pay £3 EACH to enter the field to select your pumpkin. With the cost of living going through the roof this is a bit much to ask. If you have a large family it would cost a fortune before you even pick a pumpkin. NOT GOOD.

I've always been a fan of Farndon Fields and we've enjoyed many lovely lunches and afternoon teas there. However, our visit on Wednesday 19th October was disappointing, when we were turned away from the restaurant by a surly member of staff without even an apology. It was just past 3pm and earlier in September, we had arrived at about the same time and enjoyed tea and cakes sitting outside. We weren't looking for a meal but we would have appreciated the opportunity to say we only wanted a snack.

After this disappointing visit, I am hesitant to visit again - there are many more places available in Market Harborough to enjoy tea and cake.

My partner and I went to Farndon to purchase fresh produce & to grab a hot drink, as we love trying new cafes around Leicestershire. There was a huge que to get into the cafe, mostly groups of 4 people + we stood and waited 20 minutes with visibility of two available tables for two people. At no point did anyone come to ask how many people in your group & after waiting 20 mins, we decided to leave feeling disappointed having traveled specifically to visit this award winning farm shop & cafe. We ventured into the market harb town centre, and found a cafe more accommodating & had hot drinks within 5 minutes of arrival. Sorry Farndon but this was a really disappointing visit for us.

Hi Amy, thanks for taking the time to review us. We are very sorry to hear you were disappointed with the queue when you visited. We are guessing you visited this past weekend. We were incredibly busy due to the current situation with the coronavirus. We were also very short staffed due to illness so we were not able to serve customers as quickly as we would have liked. We're really sorry we never got to offer you a table and we're sorry for the disappointment caused. We are working in very uncertain times and doing the best we can. Kind regards, Nicola

Very disappointed with savoury afternoon tea for two, it was my wife’s birthday so looked forward to this occasion. It was a meagre presentation for the price although the quality and service were of their usual very high standard.
They have increased the price since my last visit and appeared to have reduced the quantity so we were not impressed.
You don’t get much for your money. Yet another example of a company trying to claw back their profits at the customers expense.

This was our second time here. We love the farm shop, it’s full of so many produce that we spend quite a lot! Today we went as a couple for some late lunch. We find the chairs quite uncomfortable but that’s because they’re just wooden. The girls serving are always polite and the food is quite nice. The lady front of house was great explaining Covid protocols. What we found annoying was the amount of elderly just dithering around. Walking over to other tables with no masks on. Practically a foot way. Also, the elderly who DID have masks on- had their noses poking out. Pointless? Why even bother? Every time they passed our table to leave, they would ignore the arrows and practically brush my arm. We observed it the entire time. Considering this age bracket is classed as vulnerable, they aren’t taking standard precautions to keep safe. We wear our masks and keep away from others and do everything we should, to benefit others. So why when we come out, aren’t we receiving this consideration too?

The staff are very friendly and seating was comfortable.
I did feel sorry for our waitress as she was run of her feet!
We were a party of 5 and I'm sorry to say but the food wasn't worth the amount of money we paid. I had the fish goujons (3) it came with a side salad (no dressing) and a slice of bread which was an extra £1.00 which was a huge let down as it was from a loaf of bread and didn't even come with butter!! Dry as hell 😒
