Interesting place to visit as it gives one an insight as to life in England over a thousand years ago. The term castle is misleading as one normally expects to see walls and buildings made of stone rather than wooden huts and walls. Regrettably however...More

Sad to say, there is not much to see aside from flint stone and mortar. They are restoring it. Very sad, but hey, it can only get better.

Small delight of great interest adding character to place. Well worth a visit. Why not pop into a bakers shop, near by, & buy some saffron bread.

Although very little remains the ruins lie in a pleasant grassy area with a view across the common and there are some good information boards in the vicinity. It's right next to the Museum and thankfully is accessible even when the museum isn't as we...More

It is more of interest to students of history and maybe architecture if you can find some definition of a building amongst the stone. It is no more than a ruin and will remain so until more Car Parking space is required in this small...More

There really isn't much more to see than a pile of old flint, and even some of that is from the 18th century. Nothing to climb on or over and a fence all around. I'm sure it has historical significance but there really is nothing...More

This castle is literally an old ruin. Some attempt is now being made to preserve it and I could see why. It is cordoned off since I doubt if it safe. the remains are that of an old Tudor keep which used to be surrounded...More

We visited the museum and spied the castle remains while we were there. There's not much to see now but the information board was interesting. More suitable for you if you like remains of castles! And ideal if you are visiting the museum anyway.
