Saffron Walden has the advantage that it is not on the main road to anywhere. To visit necessitates a turn off the main north south route to make a visit. As a result, despite increased building Saffron Walden still retains the old market town atmosphere....More

Saffron walden dates back to the 1200s and has a charming town centre complete with weekend markets. A great place to wander for an hour or two.
