The Garden House is a 10 acre series of garden rooms, each planted differently, for seasonal interest. Visitors love the planting styles, 16th century ruins, bright colours and far reaching views over wild flower meadows. Children can roam free and find hidden corners and explore trails and trees. It is a wonderful place for garden enthusiasts, walkers and family visits. The tea room in the main house is renowned for freshly made treats and light lunches. A healthier options menu is very popular. Plants sold onsite at our well stocked plant centre are often propagated from the garden, so you will find interesting and unusual varieties that aren't commonly available elsewhere.

The garden was amazing.

The garden was amazing, so colourful and beautiful. Lots to look at and great that the plants have name tags. A little hidden gem on the edge of Dartmoor.

Four of us thought we would have lunch at the Garden House and then look around the garden which was, as always, absolutely gorgeous. The staff in the tearoom seemed overwhelmed, even though it was only half full, and everything took a very long time. I had soup which didn't taste of anything at all. I couldn't have told you... Saw a flyer, and visited the garden for a quick visit, even though overcast and at times raining, but still so colourful. Definitely worth taking a camera lovely views in the garden and down in the distance to the church below. I stayed nearly 2 1/2 hours. The garden is large and very varied, I visited in mid June, had... More

This is a fabulous garden to visit, so much crammed into lots of different levels and areas. It's a cottage garden lovers heaven with so many plants and all very well labelled. Some beautiful mature trees form an excellent backdrop. We had tea and scones in the pretty cafe which were delightfully yummy and very good value. this is possibly... More

After all the straight lines and immaculate lawns of RHS Rosemoor The Garden House was a pleasant change. 10 acres of beautiful plants intersected with meandering paths and points of interest such as miniature standings stones, sun traps, Acer groves, streams and more. Wildlife abounds especially at the lake where dragon and damsel flies are aplenty. Lots of benches to... More

A large group of enthusiastic gardeners visited The Garden House at the end of June. Such a feast of wild flowers and natural planting, no-one was disappointed. A pleasure to roam anywhere we chose and find the hidden places and sculptures.

Oh my where do I begin. We visited on a beautiful sunny day. The garden or should I say gardens are absolutely beautiful and peaceful listening to birds singing butterflies are plenty and bees busy pollenating. Paths can be narrow in places but there are plenty of areas that are accessible by wheelchair. Dogs not allowed unless guide dogs. Gardens... More
