Even though we went as it was the starting point for a walking tour, as museums go it is very sparse. The one interesting thing is Jones Van from dad army

A must see is Jonese's delivery van. The authentic vehicle used in the Dads Army Series alongside excellent exhibiys of equipment made by the Burrell Road Roller company. The volunteers are so knowledgeable and helpful. A must see alongside the Dads Army Museum

This is like visiting a time capsule. The exhibits are well displayed, and written up in an interesting manner. When we visited there were several volunteers dressed as characters from ‘Dad’s Army’. There were some working engines outside in the parking area, these were fascinating.

Very welcoming volunteers. Free to visit. Large old steam engines, but best of all is the van used by Jones in Dads Army.We had a really interesting chat from a volunteer, so if you are a dads army fan go and ask questions.

The entrance is on Minstergate. There's some tall white wooden shuttered doors just before the car park. You can't miss it, so sounds like it was closed unfortunately.
