About
Welcome to one of King's Lynn most beautiful buildings, The Majestic Cinema. This stunning cinema was officially opened on 23rdMay 1928; with the year commemorated in the stained glass windows at the front of the building. As an independent cinema, the Majestic prides itself on being a friendly place to come for all movie goers. The main attraction to the Majestic, beside its films, is the building itself and all the history that comes with it. Today, the Majestic has three screens but back when it was first opened the Majestic had one two tier screen (where Screen 1 and 2 are now), and a ballroom (where Screen 3 is now). Over the years the Majestic has transformed but features from its past still live on within the building. You just need to know where to look. When you next visit the Majestic look out for certain features like the stained glass windows in the main entrance, the circle of zodiac signs in the ceiling of Screen 1, the bouncy spring-layered floor in Screen 3, and the old stage in Screen 2. Every year the Majestic takes part in King's Lynn's Heritage Day where you have the chance to explore the cinema in more detail and to learn about the buildings past. The Majestic puts on tours with knowledgeable staff always willing to guide you through its history. Currently, the Majestic has three screens. Screen 1, with its ornate dome, seats 313. Screen 2, which holds 245 seats. This screen has disabled access and also has a superior quality hearing loop system. Screen 3 holds 113 seats and was originally the ballroom which closed 1977. All of our screens now have Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound installed.

A gem of a cinema. In Norfolk on holiday and wondered about a cinema pricing at £5 to see Top Gun. Shouldn't have worried. Period building tastefully converted to a cinema from a ball room. The seats would put any of the major cinema chains to shame and no need to pay extra for legroom (as many do) as space fantastic.
Wish my local cinemas priced this way and gave such a good exeperience

What a great cinema. A wonderful old building that has been beautifully restored. The seats in our screen were new large armchair style and very comfortable. Adult tickets only £5, which is about half the price of major chain cinemas.

My wife & I went to the re-opening on the 31st July. This is the first time since lockdown, during which they have upgraded the facility & added another screen. We were in one of the new screens, which is very impressive with the addition of new lounge seats. All this, and the prices are still £4.50!! I would urge everyone to watch their films at the majestic rather than one of the chains, lets keep this place alive and repay some of their investment.

It all started very well… easy to book, lovely leather seats and a decent price (less than £10 for 2 tickets) the food was still outrageously expensive but hey Ho used that that with cinemas.
Went to watch the Purge forever with the mrs which was alright, the only problem was the complete lack of air conditioning - people leaving every 5 minutes to cool down and I must say I probably had the sweatiest ass in kings Lynn.
Mentioned to two young lads as I left about how ridiculously hot it was who froze and looked like a sunflower staring into the sun. I wasn’t looking for any money back just some constructive criticism to help the next customers experience more enjoyable and hopefully a lot less sweaty.
As I write this walking home with my ass stuck to my jeans and the urge to shower overwhelming me I pray whoever from Majestic cinema reads this and sits in a screening to experience how hot it was.
I would come back if the air conditioning fiasco was sorted it but currently I have more on my mind such as cleansing my sweat ridden body before animals
Come to lick me for the salt content.

Lovely cinema - located in the heart of the town centre. Not great for mobility disabled customers ( unless you see a film in screen 1 ,there are 3 screens) as there isnt a lift to the upper floors. Probably a listed building so probably changing the building isnt a viable option. That said the management are superb in doing all they can to assist you. Long time since I encountered this level of personal customer care.
screens and sound are great, obviously not upto the massive VUE cinemas, but Majestic offer something they don't.. that traditional cinema warm feel.
latest films shown and prices are reasonable.
Downside is that small kids cant see over the seatbacks too well so boosters are available.
Lovely local cinema and well worth supporting them. Some customers do leave a mess behind them even though staff are available at the end of the film with binbahgs, such a shame some show a lack of respect, again this is a comment on some 'customers' and not the cinema.
We love you majestic!

Don’t let the old building put you off. It is amazingly beautiful and full of character. The theatres have comfortable lounge seats and the restrooms are spotlessly clean and modern.
The staff were welcoming and helpful. A great venue.

Saw Jurassic World Dominion on Screen 3 on one of the hottest days of the year. The auditorium was wonderfully cooled and the leather seats the most sumptuous and comfortable I've ever experienced in a cinema. It was an excellent cinematic experience and the best value. It makes me really want to support my local cinema.

Great place, never had any complaints apart from couple films I’ve come here for have been so so loud. To the point me & partner nearly walked out & asked for money back. Hoping next time it isn’t the same thing.

The cinema itself is great. It's inside what appears to be an old theatre and it gives the venue this unique charm. The seats are large and spacious and you have a lot of leg room. The view is decent as well. Everything is reasonably priced. £4.50 for a ticket is great. The issue however is the general public that attend this venue. I've been twice whilst on holiday and both times my visit was ruined by the general public.
1. 2 year olds in a 15rated movie
2. People constantly on their phones taking photos or recording the film
3. The doors being constantly pulled open and then left open as people exit for the toilets, on what seems to be every 15mins
4. Teenagers goofing about
5. A huge number of young children (under 5) in a 12a movie
Now, I know what you're thinking. What does this have to do with the cinema they can't control the people that visit. I disagree, in London the staff are on top of this. They open and close the doors making sure the noise and disruption is limited. Staff also are inside the screen making sure sources of constant disruption are removed or dealt with. Simply put a 2 year old wouldn't be admitted either.
Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom was a waste of time for me, parents simply didn't want to control their kids and let them talk, run around or do whatever. The lack of staff meant they had no incentive to even try and address this behaviour.
Deadpool was pointless as well with a 2 year old crying constantly and moaning, who honestly thinks a 2 year old should be allowed in a 15!!!
Here's my issue, the venue and pricing is excellent. The experience you get isn't. I don't want to be too harsh on an independent cinema chain so I'd say be cautious if you go. Maybe this is a venue for locals only who can gauge what will/won't be a busy screening and what/will won't attract the worst people on earth.

I recently went to see Red Sparrow in screen 3. I wish the management would discouraging people from getting up and leaving the cinema during the film unless for emergencies of course. All in all 8 people got up and left and returned during the time the film was showing. Not good enough really. It doesn't happen in other cinemas I attend. All tickets sell at £4.00 So there are no additional discounts.

Is their disabled access to the cinema and screens?
My daughter is a wheelchair user and was hoping that we could get her in without the need for her to bump herself in on her bottom as she often does at many venues but is not such a dignified thing for her or for others to see her doing!

Hi I am so sorry for late reply but I believe you can access the cinema in a wheelchair. They open the fire exit but I am not certain if you can get to see all films as there are 4 screens with only one on ground floor
