Other reviews that express delight at the house and gardens would echo our sentiments. There is a layer of social history here that is also fascinating and well told. All in all a most enjoyable visit.

We only went to the gardens not the house but these were lovely. Nice variety of areas and the Stumpery was something different! Cafe was good too which a nice range of food.

Lots of history, well worth a visit if you are visiting the area, or even if you are more local. The building itself is an example of a rich past.

Whilst not cheap (what is these days?) this place is well worth a visit and is an interesting way to pass a couple of hours. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would have no reservations in recommending anyone to go here.

Some areas are suitable. There's an under the stairs tour which is really good. I think I recall a lift. The staff are very helpful so if there's a way they will organise it for you. There's a lovely café.
