This fantastic giant statue of a typical WW1 Tommy is stunningly beautiful and poignant. The residents of Seaham should be congratulated for raising the funds to have it on permanent display on the towns green. Nearby, there are also resin poppies attached to a railing commemorating hundreds of local men who died in the two world wars. Seaham certainly knows how to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.
