Unpleasant staff

I have been exhibiting there one of my artworks, so I have asked them to kindly send me a photo of my artwork displayed, so I could use it for my archive. I’ve got immediately NO as a reply. Completely unkind and non-professional treatment.

Brilliant exhibition of culinary history

We popped in here during our stay at the wonderful Hotel Duran. They had told us about this exhibition, charting the culinary history of Empordà, including the Duran family itself.

The exhibition, on two floors, was really informative and brought back happy memories for us of El Bulli in the old days and the rise of Catalan cuisine through the years. Bravi!

Interesting exhibition of famous chefs and restaurants of the area
May 2019 • Couples
We stumbled across this when visiting the Dali Museum and found we also got free entry with our Dali Museum ticket. The staff were very helpful and they had an exhibition in part of the museum about the history of the famous chefs and restaurants that developed in this area over the past 60 years. Some fascinating memorabilia and stories in this exhibition.

Interesting, Uncrowded Museum

Found out about this place while visiting the Dali museum after reading TripAdvisor. You can gain free admission here showing your Dali ticket and it is a short walk away from that museum.

It was a pleasant, virtually empty haven after the hustle and bustle of the Dali museum.

There was an exhibition of black and white photography from the Spanish Civil War, focusing on local politicians and personalities involved in the conflict. The subtitles were all in Catalan, but it was easy enough to following the gist.

The remaining galleries contained art from the local area, dating from the 19th century. There were individual paintings by Dali and a very nice portrait by Joaquín Sorolla. Although I hadn't heard of any of the local artists, I enjoyed the vast majority of the work on display and spent a pleasant three quarters of an hour browsing.

Interesting and quiet
Oct 2017 • Couples
Included in ticket price for Dalí theatre-just show your ticket within a week. Very few people in when we visited. Each floor covers different things. There is a lift if you have trouble with stairs. Centrally located. Worth a look.

We found out about this place at the train station in Figueres. Entrance fee is waived with proof of Dali Museum ticket the same day. The person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The displays are varied and well curated. Excellent experience!

Really enjoyed the visit here - it was quiet and the temporary exhibition on Ramon Pichot was very nice.

Free entry with your Dali ticket
Jun 2016 • Solo
With no entry charge if you show your Dali museum ticket, this peaceful museum is definitely worth a visit for art lovers and those interested in the local culture and history. There are both permanent and temporary exhibitions and some of the artefacts in the former, pottery in particular, are more than 2000 years old.

The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the collections.

Provincial gallery in the shadow of the Dali museum
Jun 2016 • Couples
We had an enjoyable walk around the gallery, which is spread over 3 floors.
On the ground floor was a temporary art exhibition and then the other floors consisted of art and museum quality artefacts found locally which were interesting.
The staff on reception were really friendly and if you had paid to visit the Dali museum you could enter this gallery free.
There were no other visitors in the gallery which was such a shame and we couldn't help wondering if the place needed better promotion and presence.
