Our first experience of scuba diving was with Enrico at Yellow Submarine Tarifa and we had a fantastic time. Enrico has perfect English and was able to explain everything to us clearly (which is kind of important when you're going to be 10 metres underwater for the first time!). Location great, equipment top notch, instructor and staff superb. Highly recommended for a first taste of scuba diving. We will be going again next time we visit Tarifa.

Fantastic day diving with the team. Very big thank you to Sami our guide who was superb. We are a family of 4 with two newly qualified O/W jnrs aged 11 and 13 doing our first dive as a group. Brilliant experience. Good equipment, organisation, friendly helpful staff and most importantly felt 100% safe at all times. Did a two dive package. First dive in the Mediterranean second in the Atlantic. Loads of beautiful fish and great plant life. Really enjoyable on every level. Thanks guys you did a great job.

The crew at Yellow Sub dive shop provided the training I needed to be safely qualified as an open water diver.
Yellow Sub also provides bilingual training.
As a USA citizen I will always proudly display my diver certificate earned in Tarifa Spain.

I am an OW diver and went to Yellow Submarine to do a dive, mostly just to refresh my skills since I did not have too high hopes of visibility or wildlife when diving in Tarifa. (I cant blame the dive shop for the conditions and wildlife during the dive, so this review is not about that.)
I have been to a few dive shops around the world, and this is unfortunately the least favorite to date. The staff was not unfriendly, but not really friendly either, it really felt like a business, everything was very non-personal and the atmosphere not the best. Maybe I caught them on a bad day (which could be the case since most reviews here are positive) but the staff seemed very stressed and not really interested in talking more than necessary to customers. I have enjoyed my diving more when the guides are a bit more social (at least to solo divers) and positive, and also appear to love going diving themselves.
The gear was in good condition, so thats a plus.
The dive was pretty much what I expected, I saw a few colorful fish and It was cold, 17 C (you need to dive with a hat, shoes and gloves and a 7mm suit).

The Team has a very good and informative website and fast communication through emails. It was very easy to get in touch and book the dive with them. They have good quality gears, short boat ride to the dive sites, all very well organised. There was one Lady and the owner who were not as helpful as i expected since i`ve started diving this year. They were mocking me and that I`ve found totally unfriendly. The dive was interesting, good visibility with some fish and wreks, the water was not as cold as we expected. The stuff on the boat and the instructor Manu were very nice and paying attention. To gain experience diving in this area was O.K. and the Team is doing a proper Job, providing safe diving. For the Price you should not set and carry your things back and forth but i guess each place can be different.

Hi! This is Alex, one of the staff members at yellowsub Tarifa. Thanks for the positive comments, as for the less positive writings you were told by one female instructor how to build up your gear correctly, standard bcd with standard regulator, din/int. she was just trying tohelp you, as for the gear none has to carry it, we have 2 trolleis for that, if you were needing help, just you could have asked and put your gear in the trolley for you, we understand that it might be heavy for some divers. I would encourage you to give us a try again and see by yourself that it was just a minor thing. Kind regards from yellowsub tarifa

Great place for diving. Just completed a PADI advanced course here, was very good. Careful explanation, good gear and very friendly staff. And of course also a very nice diving experience. Recommended!

I dived for the first time with the staff of Yellow Submarine in June, it was a wonderful experience; friendly and professional staff, ready to help you any time you need it and always concerned about safety.
I was so satisfied that in July I decided to do the Advance open water course there. The instructor who supervised me during the course, Jose, was very accurate in the explanations of theory, always watchful under water and he helped me to remain calm even when I was in difficulties.
Also the other instructors with whom I dived, Enrico, Alex and Sabina, have been extraordinary and Beatriz, at the reception, always very kind.
The thing that I appreciated the most is that the instructors, especially Enrico, convey their dedication to diving and to the environment in which they dive as the interest in preserving it. The dives I have done, in fact, all around Isla de Las Palomas, have been very exciting especially for the vastness of species that can be observed (fauna and flora). The meetings of moon fishes, eagle ray, moray eels, lots of nudibranchs, have been particularly evocative.
I'm so grateful to all of them, can't recommend enough!

I am a dive master (although a bit rusty) and asked these guys to take my son on a Discover Scuba course. I can't speak highly enough of the service we recieved. Alex was a great instructor despite teaching in English not Spannish. Highly recomeded from an experienced diver.

As a diver, you use to consider 4 main points when you decide where to go dive and who with: 1) Dive location 2) Equipment quality in case you rent it, 3) Staff and 4) Comfort (such as transport to the dive spot, distance to have to walk with the gear on, etc). Yellow Sub qualifies 100% in all of the above; the stuff is quite straight, they respect the divers good practices with discipline, the equipment is pretty much new and the location is right on the port, so you barely give a step carrying your gear. The dive location is great, visibility was great even at 35m depth and seelife is quite diverse and colorfull. People use to point out the fauna but the richness in algae and marine plants is quite valuable as well.

Furthermore, they are quite resilient to quite bad customers as we were. We changed the plan a number of times even when most of the other divers where already on board, but they kept trying to provide the best quality of service and make our dives unforgettable.

In conclusion, I do recommend this dive center if you decide to explore this area.

I would definitely recommend this dive shop. Enrico and his wife were very friendly and helpful. Jose Cornejo was my dive instructor and the experience with him and also with Enrico was fantastic. They were very nice and really take good care of my needs.
Thanks again to Enrico and Jose for all the knowledge. I will use go back there to keep learning in a heart bit.
