Beautiful beach easily reached by stairs or, if staying at the Parador, by a private elevator. Since it was early December, everything on the beach was closed; however, walking along the beach, everything was very clean and well taken care of.

This beach is easy to access because some of the beaches in Nerja are accessed by lots of steps which elderly and disabled people will struggle to do,

Burriana is a popular beach in both summer and winter. In winter the majority of the bars and restaurants remain open and there are still plenty of tourists around. In summer the beach is packed with sun worshipers.... note the sun loungers can be reserved...More

Also, the big Balinese sun beds are €13 each per day. Fun, but NB hard to lean back on anything when you have one so maybe not so easy to read... you may not have much time for that anyway...? :-)

Valparaiso Apartments, Burriana Beach (4 Replies)
Has anyone stayed in Valparaiso apartments? and would they recommend this as a good location. Have stayed in Nerja itself a couple of times but don't know Burriana Beach that well. How long is the walk to the beach, and how long would it take to walk back? I gather the area is quite steep.

These flats are just round the corner from where I live. I have some friends who are there permanently and they're very happy with their apartment and its facilities. It'll take you 5 minutes to walk down to Burriana. The hill isn't that steep, but it will take you a little longer coming back. (I know - I walk up it every day with the dog!) Walking into the town centre means climbing another hill, which is a bit steeper. However, getting to the Balcón de Europa should take no more than...More
