We did a track fron El Canuelo to Playa Cantarrijan.
Amazing beaches, very interesting track (not always well signed) and outstanding views.
Worth spending a day while in Nerja. One of the highlights of our trip.
Moderate level track difficulty.

We adore walking through this park to Maro Tower, which has been delighfully restored, and taking in the panoramic views.

Some reviewers have this confused with other places along the coast - this peninsula is above Playa de Cantarrijan just outside the town of La Herradura. It’s signposted off the main N-340 just before the first tunnel on this stretch of road and is actually quite well maintained, although there are a few potholes. We noticed a mountain goat at the side of the road and stopped for a closer look - we then noticed a whole herd of them - some were up the cliff face and others on the valley side of the road - I think the one we spotted was trying to reach those higher up but couldn’t work out how to get there! The road eventually rejoins the N-340 but you have to head back towards Nerja and turn round again if wanting to go towards La Herradura. Right at the top is a restaurant which was closed and looked rather derelict - some nice vantage points overlooking La Herradura and trails leading to view points and further into the park area. Not sure I’d feel comfortable leaving my car alone for any period of time though.

The Reserva Natural Acantilados De Maro-Cerro Gordo offers some secluded beaches between high cliffs. This area is one of the few streches of coast without building-development.The area can be visited on foot from La Herradura bus stop but I found it a long and steep hike.I also hiked on Punta De La Mona wich is much more build up.

Rustic. Not developed. How some would want it including us. It was actually nice that it wasn't crowded.

A little nice beach, but difficult to access, many cliffs and perhaps a little bit dangerous to climb down; cristal clear water and not many people; it's not a sandy beach and there are high cliffs. a beach for nature lovers and if you like to be on a quite beach.

These cliffs are steep, shaley and unstable.Good views but quite dangerous access.Reccommend Paper Mill beach and Maro for easier walking.Make sure you take all your valuables as thieves operate in this area.

This beach near Nerja was the first I visited in the region and although the sea water is great, the beach is not that good because there are lots of stones in and out of the water which makes it hard to lay comfortably in the sun and walk safely in the water.
