The plaza is nice place to sit and relax. There are many bars around the plaza. There is a museum with many Roman articles.

Stayed in the hotel adjacent to this square, bells and more bells but I like that - we were there on a Sunday before leaving for Seville and everyone was up and about for church - there is a lovely bar here right in the heart of the square a few nights spent there were very enjoyable.

It was also formerly known as Plaza de las Verduras when the old market were located here. The square has been recently renovated and in the centre of the plaza is a statue of King Fernando II, one of the heroes of the reconquest. At the very back of the plaza is a fountain with representation of the four elements: water, fire, air and earth. There isn't many cafes around the plaza like in many Spanish plazas, but many of the museums and attractions of Antequera are around here.
