We had a good experience getting a private driver to take two of us (with big bags!) from Tarifa port to a hotel in central Sevilla (about 2+ hours drive). We had booked this in advance, even though we didn't know for sure which ferry we would take from Morocco, and Juan-Jose at Area Transfers was very good about keeping in touch with us, even as we made last minute changes not only to the time but the port! (Originally planned Algeciras, but then switched to Tarifa, then caught an earlier ferry than planned.) Our driver was very friendly, and kept up patient conversation with us, letting me practice my limited Spanish. When we arrived in Sevilla, there was a big festival going on and many streets were closed, making access to our hotel in the pedestrian zone even more complicated than usual, but our driver was able to figure it out and deliver us to our doorstep. Would definitely recommend this service for those who would like door-to-door private car transfer in southern Spain.

My wife and I booked a taxi from Gibraltar to Costa Natura near Estepona and also the return journey and were very impressed by the service we received. Miguel was waiting for us at the airport with our names on a card and he escorted us across the border by foot into Spain. At all times he was courteous and attentive to our needs and sure enough, he arrived to collect us bang on time at the end of our holiday. I would have no hesitation in recommending Area Transfers in the future and in particular Miguel who did an excellent job. Hazel and Tony Townsend

Usually we fly into Malaga and have a regular taxi company that we use but for convenience we flew into Gibraltar on our most recent trip so it was a step into the unknown. Travelling as a family of 6 often presents problems so a Google search started the process. We were travelling to Duquesa and had quotes upwards of 300,00€ return. since the journey is only about 35-45 minutes this seemed excessive (we pay about the same from Malaga to Duquesa and that journey is about 90 minutes or so).
I found Area Transfers by chance. There were only 2 reviews on TA but they were both recent and positive and the quote of 156,00€ return was more in line with what I expect.
When booking you are given the choice of paying by card in advance or cash on arrival, I choose the latter as it appealed to me more since I was booking a service abroad that I had never dealt with before (some companies I had quotes from wanted a deposit or payment in full in advance). The booking was all confirmed promptly and concisely by email.
As things transpired I had nothing to worry about. We were met at the Airport by Miguel (the owner/driver). It's worth noting that Spanish taxis do not cross the border so it's a 5 minute walk through customs and passport control and you will need to carry your luggage with you (without a trolley!) Miguel insisted on taking the largest bag for us which was a great help and we were shortly at the car.
The vehicle was a Mercedes MPV, plenty of room for all of us and our luggage. It was clean and had the best air con I have experienced in a long time.
On our return Miguel arrived early and the journey was hassle free once again.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Area Transfers, Miguel is a gentleman and his business deserves to do well.
A big thank you to you from the Mills family!

I booked with Area Transfers to pick us up at Gibralter Airport to pay on arrival. Our flight was delayed an hour and forty five minutes. I was delighted to see the driver waiting in arrivals with our name on a card clearly visible. The driver assisted with the large case to where he had parked across the border. Both drivers on arrival and return were punctual, professional and pleasant. I will definitely be using this service again, it took the stress out of hiring a car and driving to our resort especially after a long day and flight delay, also stress free return at the end of our holiday.

We booked via the internet very much at the last minute and in Initially even booked the wrong pick up time. On realising our error we contacted Area Transfer by email and shortly after they sorted the problem with a lovely return text message. On arriving at Gibraltar we were promptly treated and transferred by a very good driver to our destination in Sotogrande. Car was very clean and comfortable could not have asked for more. Highly recommended - great service and reasonable price.

A short golfing trip to Spain (Marina de Casares) flying into Gibralter. Didn't need a car, so looked at taxi transfers. Found Area Transfers and given a quote of 90euros (2 people plus clubs and luggage) and had no problem paying up front as was able to use Paypal. Met at the airport and assisted with luggage across the border. Our driver was very prompt at picking us up to take us back to the airport, travelling in the MPV.
Unfortunately getting through passport controls with no trolley proved very difficult but luckily had some assistance with a local, probably due to the large crowd behind probably trying to get to work.
Overall, was very impressed with the service and would definitely use again and recommended to others. My only but is if travelling with golf clubs and luggage probably easier to use Malaga as they do have trolleys. However, I understand that Area Transfers would be happy to arrange a pick up on this.

They were waiting at the docks and after customs and immigration on the dock after we got off the Ferry from Tangier, we were the only folks coming out, helped with bags, confirmed our travels, took us to the border crossing for Gibraltar, confirmed our return, agreed to meet at Burger King [there and McDonalds are both good locations], he was right on time actually 10 minutes early we were 15 min. early. Good service, smile, pleasant, clean rig, highly recommend.

I used this company for a evening ride from Algeciras to Cadiz. I highly recommend this company.
The communication for the booking was prompt, professional and clear in English.
The driver was prompt and the car was very nice for the 90 minute ride. Clean and comfortable.
The pricing for this ride was much more reasonable compared to what the hotel was going to charge for this service.
So book direct and save some Euros.

I have used Area Transfers before and had no hesitation booking with Miguel again. He picked us up from Gibraltar airport and on to Duquesa. Miguel was happy to go via the estate agents and wait whilst I picked up the key and did some paperwork. Highly recommended.

On September 25 (Sunday) 2 people are taking a ferry from Tangier to Algeciras, likely arriving at 6:30 pm. We have to be in Algeciras the next day for a train which leaves at 3:30 pm. What would be the costs (broken down) for (1) a transfer from the ferry terminal to a hotel near the train station, (2) a transfer early the next morning from our hotel in Algeciras to the border crossing for Gibraltar, (3) a transfer back from Gibraltar are to our hotel. We would likely have to arrive back at our hotel by around 2:30 in order to catch our train. Is this feasible and does it give us enough time to briefly explore Gibraltar?
Written July 15, 2016
I do not know, but that is sorta what we did when we left Tangier, but we sent a week in Gibraltar.
Call the transfer company, the ferry ride takes a long time, and Unless you want to worry about getting up early you would be better off just staying in Ascaris.
I loved Gibraltar so I would try and stay in Gibraltar and take the train the next day.
