About
Situated in the heart of the Bucegi Mountains and reaching the highest altitude in Romania a cable has reached– 2050 m, Sinaia Gondola can be seen as the transition point between sky and earth, between beautiful and spectacular. The 1000-1400 section of Sinaia Gondola starts from Furnica neighborhood, reaching 1400 elevation. This section was opened in 2007, having 34 gondolas, each being able to carry up to eight people. The length of this section is 1312 meters. The maximum transportation capacity is 1700 people / hour and the gondolas are provided with external pockets for skis and snowboards. The 1400-2000 section of Sinaia Gondola is one of the latest and most performant cable installations from Europe and around the Globe, merging the two ski areas from Sinaia: the low and high altitude ski areas. Being equipped with ultramodern functioning systems and the latest technology in its field, the 1400-2000 section of Sinaia Gondola has two diesel engines and the latest energy saving system, named Direct Drive, which ensures a 20% reduction in electricity consumption as against traditional systems. This new section of Sinaia Gondola establishes three national records: the installation reaches the highest altitude in Romania – 2050 meters; in Valea cu Brazi area it reaches the biggest height from the ground ever recorded by an installation of this kind, 120 meters; this installation crosses the steepest segment of a cable installation – 45 degrees at the first three pylons. Soarelui Chairlift was developed for the slopes on the west side, being a modern cable installation with 85 chairs. The retractable cupola, ecological red leather seather, alongside with the silent engines offer tourists the most confortable chairlift trips from Romania. Partia Noua skilift is a babyski set for people learning how to ski or snowboard. It is situated at the end of Partia Noua slope. Throughout the skilift’s distance there is a nocturne installed which is perfectly suited for extended skiing or snowboarding days.

Watch out if you want to ski here! There are 2 companies and both don’t work with each other so you need to book each company separately costing double. When the wind blows, they don’t operate so lost 2 days of skiing and they don’t reimburse when you buy full day ticket. This resort is not great for skiing so would suggest you go somewhere like the alps.

It works from time to time and when it does, if is snow only in the Sun Valley (a short slope) you pay a lot per hour (half-day ticket, 20 euros for 2:30 hours of skiing). Worst offer in Prahova-Brasov area. Not for skiing
In rest: a terrible/ugly place at the midway stop and nothing on top station, except the view.
Could be OK for mountain biking, not sure.

I recently visited the Sinaia Gondola with my family and encountered extremely poor service. Despite arriving within operating hours with valid tickets, we were rudely denied entry to continue our journey. The staff at the counter barely spoke English and dismissively told us it was too late to go on the gondola, even though we were well within operating hours and had already paid for the trip. Additionally, the staff at the midpoint showed a complete disregard for customers, turning away others without valid reasons, also alleging it was too late despite signs showing clearly that the last trip was still a good 30min from that time. I strongly advise against visiting this establishment due to its lack of professionalism, disrespectful treatment of paying customers, and poor communication skills.

They have quite large ticket prices for romania ,I paid a full ticket without any discount for the ascent and descent from Sinaia - altitude1400m - altitude 2000m .
I climbed to the 2000m I made a small trip , I returned to 16.35 to the gondola.
They told me that they closed , they can not help me , to take the walk from the quota 2000m to Sinaia .Although the gondolas were working and I had paid the ticket they did not return me any money.
I was not the only one cheated by this company, there were older people, cyclists .

We bought 2 tickets for going and returning to/from 2000m. They sold us the tickets and when we arrived at 1400 they told us they will shut everything down due to bad weather, and we should go down. We paid for parking for a day, which is the only option, and we would’ve managed to fit in the 30 minutes free time, but the gondola stoped while going down from 1400m for about 10 minutes. Imagine a severe thunderstorm and you’re stuck in the air. I am sure that they knew the weather situation up, but they sold the tickets anyways because they care only about the money. When we asked for a refund , they refunded only 70 lei out of 195 lei, and when I asked why is it like this because we didn’t even leave the territory, they ignored my email for about a week now, I’ve written them another email and they do not even bother to answer. Very bad customer service and they really do care only about the money. Maybe the views are beautiful but we didn’t even got a chance to see them and spend this money for a second time would be expensive, because they do not care about their customers

I have tried 3 times this year to go to Sinaia for skiing and every time the slopes and gondola were closed. After some research I found out that the people in change are from ciryhall and there is not a private company in charge. So why stress, we pay anyway for their salaries. A lot of excuses every day...

There are two section s 1000-1400 and 1400-2000. Each of modern gondolas for 8 passengers. On our visit only the lover section gondola was working. Up or down for 35 RON Up+down 70 RON For Romania price standards a little bit . From the middle part of the ride you can glimpse the Peles Castle. Efficient operation but not too buy Friday sunny day. The cable cars was used by many bikers using the biking trails.

They often have wind, and can close shortly after selling a day ski pass. They will then tell you to email them your bank account details for the refund, however they then say they can only refund Romanian bank accounts!.
Do not worry though, In order to get your money back you should pay with credit card so that you can then make a chargeback :)

We bought tickets for 4 hours. After an hour and a half, the place got closed and for an extreme weather.
We asked if we can get a refund as we used only part time from what we bought. We were referred to an email address.
Once email them, we got a replay that a refund can only be done to a Romanian bank account.
That doesn't make any sense. They can take money from any bank in the world, but can only refund money to Romanian bank account?????

We came here after seeing it from Peles castle. Both cable cars 55lei/person and 15lei for parking. Weather was good so we had amazing view. Each station has to offer beverages. Middle one also food which looked good from table next to us. Its worth going only if you are not afraid of heights and love nice views.
