Spectacular views of the beach, ocean and city. Best point in Nazare. The site is in the immediate vicinity of the sanctuary that was once one of the most important in Portugal. Souvenirs are sold in the square. There are also a few small cafes. You can get to the square by fenicular, car or on foot. The view is breathtaking. It is a place of exceptional charm.

You gotta love the easy and free activities that give you amazing views. Once in the upper part of Nazare, pretty much all the roads will lead you to the Sitio da Nazare central area and here. A breathtaking view of the lower city and main beach. Hopefully you're not afraid of heights too much as you are on the top of a cliff that is a long and rocky way down.

If Kodak were still around there'd be a sign posted saying "picture point". This square above Nazare's beaches (the high wave record North beach and the Southern protected by the cliffs) come together in one of Portugal's finest vistas. And don't forget to patronize the older women dressed in their traditional "seven dresses" selling nuts and various other edibles.

Visited this spot many times ,the views are spectacular and the quaint shops and cafes ,the church is well worth a visit
The reason for only two stars ,over the last 12 months there's been an influx of tuk tuks ,eventually they will overtake the area as every other tourist spot ,the car park on top of the hill has an 'illegal' worker who directs you to a parking space he expects a tip from you for this ,you don't have to tip him but what's the chance he damages your car ! They sorts of people are all over portugal and the gnr should clamp down on them ,lastly the toilets by the sweet sellers has a lady standing at the entrance and demands payment for you to use ,this again is illegal ,there are free toilets to use near the varnicular railway ,don't be scammed ,lets hope the local municipal clamp down on the problems

Really pretty view of Nazare town with the orange roof and white paint. Long and wide beach. Stunning beauty. Love this little town. Hard to imagine the water use to come up to the cliff level. Very friendly dried nuts ladies. Let you taste things before you buy.
Worth the trek or funicular ride up the to the cliff.

This is a cliff side view over the ocean and the town of Nazare. The red tiled roofs of the city runs right up to the large beach with the beautiful water pushing waves onto the beach.

From here you get a really good view of the seaside village below you, and also the beaches and the wild coast.

There are stunning views of the beach and town below. Many years ago the ocean came to the level of the upper town but has obviously receded to allow for the lower town. There are little seats built into the walls of the Miradouro where you can sit and have a sandwich. Around the corner is the church and restaurants surrounding a courtyard.

This small observation deck\terrace is located on top of the hill , at the corner of "O Sitio" square , adjacent to the tiny "Ermida da Memoria" chapel . Do stop here for a stunning panoramic view of the ocean and beach way below you .

We spent almost a full day in Sitio, and this was one of the highlights of the day. The views from this area are excellent. The plaza and lighthouse are also worth visiting after spending time enjoying the amazing views from the cliff area.
