The church is in the middle of old town part of enna. Inside you find impressive decoration and music organs. Front elevation was in reconstruction in the time of our trip.

The cathedral rebuilt after a fire in the 1400's. The interior is very ornate with statues, carving at the top and bottom of the pillars, paintings and stained glass.

.......it was shut. All the information assured us it would be open, but no. Locked up tight. Enna isn't an inspiring place.

The interior of this cathedral is breathtaking. It certainly was the most memorable Cathedral we visited in Sicily, because it's beauty was so unexpected. Highly worth a visit. It would be a great place to get married!

Beautiful Sicilian Baroque interior. The highlight of an Easter visit to witness the Good Friday processions! The Duomo is at the heart of upper Enna which felt very authentic & not touristy, real butcher shops & the like in the center of town rather than things geared to tourism.

The mixture between baroque and renaissance parts on the outside of the building does not say anything about the splendor on the inside. The impressive decorations that are a combination of wooden craftsmanship and baroque art is not unique but very overwhelming when you enter the church. The marble floor reflects the wooden coffered ceiling and the quality of some of the paintings you would not expect in this place. Have a closer look on the different side altars. The combination is unusual.

Along with the quite different cathedrals in Cefalu and Monreale, I thought this was one of the most impressive and interesting cathedrals in Sicily. The grand interior space is filled with a wealth of detail in wood, marble and plaster---we spent some time looking around at dusk and knew we had to return the in daylight the following day. Don't miss the carved and painted figures on the organ and choir balconies.

Enna Piazza Armeria is a place to make it a must to visit. It is on top of a mountain with beautiful marvellous views. You can visit there by taking a Public Transport from the square in front of Railway Station which takes about 1hour 30 minutes. The road is Auto Strada Enna is about 1000meters above Sea level. The talliest provincial capital in Italy It is called Belvederof Sicily because of its land scapes.,. If you wish to stay there there is quite a few Hotels. I stayed in Hotel D.'Italia. in the centre of the city..

We really enjoyed our visit to the Duomo in Enna. It is magnificent, understated building from the exterior. The interior is spacious, with fine pillars and interesting works of art. The stained glass windows above the altar give a glorious colourful enhancement to the atmosphere of the building, especially when the sun is shining through them. It is a beautiful, peaceful building and worth visiting.
