Quick view, I would say more impressive outside than inside

The entrance is free, so you don't have excuses not to visit it. The inside is a vast empty space made of three separate parts-

My wife and I live in Israel and we were on a week-long organized tour of Sicily. Although we are avid nature lovers and mountain hikers, before we came on this visit Sicily we really knew nothing about nature in Sicily except for Mount Etna. We were shocked to discover that Sicily is a virtual nature paradise. Our tour guide... More

We drove here on the way to Villa Romana del Casale at Piazza Aremina because it is one of the highest city's of Sicily and wanted to view it from the tower. There is parking up at the castle but since it's free it's packed. We parked half way down in a carpark which is off one of the side... More

The views of the surrounding countryside were AMAZING! It was a bit of a trek to get to the viewpoint, but absolutely worth it.

Located at top of a hill , amazing road of bushy woods and one of a kind view of the whole area , don;t miss villa romana located 30 km from there.

The little town of Enna is in the middle of Sicily. We visited it while driving from Catania to Cefalu. Down from the highway the city of Enna looks very interesting perched on a hilltop, so we decided to visit it and didn't regret. After visiting the charming small town with winding streets we drove to the summit of it,... More

This is a must attraction in Sicily. On the top of the mountain you'll find the ruins of the Lombardi Castle. It is not an easy trail to climb, but it was well worth the effort. The panoramic view was breathtaking. I took a lot of beautiful pictures with my friends. Even the "selfie" one came out gorgeous.

Truth be told the castle is in ruins and there really isn't much to see. However, as a heritage tourist I still enjoyed the visit; although only the castle's ruins remain there still are a number of information stands (in Italian and English) which were greatly appreciated. The roof of the castle is accessible through a long narrow staircase which... More

Driving up the mountain is an experience. But standing on the tower of the caste looking over Enna and surrounding villages was just breath taking. And from there is short walk into Enna with lots more to see.
