I and a number of visitors had a trip to mullingar golf club in June. The visitors to the course had never played the course before and were blown away with the course greens, their speed and consistency. The course was so well manicured and the professional staff could not be more helpful. Highly recommend this course in the midlands. Probably the best value for money in the midlands

Fantastic course. New design on 18 is huge improvement. Greens and fairways were excellent. Rough is playable. Great staff in the pro shop. Practice area is a great addition.

We spent a week playing lins courses on the west coast of Ireland. Driving back to Dublin we decided to play golf and stay one night in Mullingar. Chosen just because it was convenient for our flight.
We found a gem! Well kept course, nice layout. The most amazing thing is the variety of trees! These make the round a joy for the eye.
Very friendly staff. Nice clubhouse. We had dinner which was excellent.
I have saved the best to the last: You get all this for £35!

5 of us went to Mullingar golf club for a bite to eat recently and I had to say it was the most disappointing golf club meal I ever had. We had a choice of starters, 2 chose the prawn cocktail and were rewarded with generous good quality starters. The rest of us went for the prawns wrapped in pastry. These were clearly not homemade and the bought-in variety. The pastry was soggy and the prawns lacked flavour. The mains did not improve matters. One of our party had the chicken curry, it had no spice and lacked flavour. Another had the turkey & ham. It was adequate at best. But the shocking part of the meal was the 3 steaks. Mary ordered well done, she got cremated and could only eat half the steak before giving up. I ordered medium and got well-done, sinewy and virtually inedible, I didn’t finish it. Our host ordered medium rare and also got a well-done, he was extremely disappointed with the fare on offer. The wines were average and at almost €50 per head, we felt this was extremely poor value and appalling quality. The only bright spot was the waiter, who engaged in friendly banter but this could not make up for such miserable food. Avoid at all costs.

The golf course is one of the finest inland courses in the country and is maintained to a very high standard. It hosts the much acclaimed "Mullingar Scratch cup" and to play the course you can see why.The bar and catering together with the pro shop is a real let down for such a class club. The scones are like stones to eat and the bar staff are very cocky with little interest in the keen golfer. To make a purchase of any memorabilia is next to impossible.
I would definite go back to play the course but would forget about everything else.

played last friday, price was good,a bit too good it turned out.greens were like bouncy castles, bunkers were the worst i have encountered in years, company was good and for an open day we got round in under 4 hrs, noise on tge course was shocking, seems to have an old age profile, and they were noisey, times hsve changed for mullingar. There was a group of about 20 women outside the clubhouse,as we were teeing off on the 10th,best thing that happened was a mobile phone went off,it stipped them tslking for about ten seconds.very poor👎

Superb golf course in prime condition, fairways, greens kept to a high standard. Par 5's very challenging and long Par 3's where club selection is crucial. PGA Professional very welcoming and courtesy, Food in the clubhouse was delicious and a fine menu with good variety to choose from, can't wait to return.

Great golf course.fairways are particularly good.par threes are all super holes.theres a lack of signage to the golf course which is a common problem in Ireland.the greens were already hollow tined by 10 September but we got a discount.the course is very busy on Saturdays pArticularly after midday.as the organiser of the group of golfers I was very happy with the lady who dealt with my booking.she kept me informed.also the golf assistant had printed out our nearest pins and longest drives and laid them out on course.recommend a visit.phill Donnelly 10.9.16

Went to Mullingar Golf Club to hit a few balls on the driving range, with my two sons. Paid for 3 tokens and put them in the ball dispenser... but no balls came out. I was then told by a member of staff that the groundsman was too busy to collect the balls and that we would have to collect our own from the range... whilst others continued to practice at the range at the same time! Poor, poor, poor!
