We did the guided tour which means going to the visitors centre not the monument and there are several miles between the two. We travelled to Dowth first and then to Newgrange. We had guides at both sites who made the experience enjoyable. At five hundred years older than the pyramids they are impressive is not a bit of a folly, for 5 bodies.

This is a wonderful farm! I have nothing but good things to say about it... from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was thoroughly enjoyable.
On arrival we met the lovely David who gave us a bag with good for the ducks hens and goats which we were told to leave the empty bag with the lovely Mary to get a bottle of milk to feed the lambs.
It’s a wonderful experience here. It’s very well laid out and nice atmosphere. Plenty to see and do. I can’t wait to go back again and again...

I've always enjoyed going to newgange farm with my children. Today we visited and almost every toy was broken and not fit for use. Most of the go-karts had no seats , most of the tractors and cars had no steering wheels . Extremely disappointed with this place , considering I had paid €42 for myself and my children. Maintenance needs to be done . It's gone downhill big time.

Excellent farm with lots of lovely animals for petting. Well run and organised. Perfect for any family with young or in my case youngish kids. Bottle feeding lambs was the highlight. Will be back.

Our first time visiting. We had a lovely day, my 8 year old hasn’t stopped talking about the day, we do a new farm every summer and this by far has been her favourite.
Great opportunity’s to feed and pet the animals which is usually missing from farm experiences so this was brilliant. Animals looked cared for, area’s were clean, staff were so friendly and accommodating (opened the shop back up so my daughter could get a teddy).
Cafe food was limited, but was clean.
Overall a great day out, plenty for kids to do aside from the animals (go karts, water play, sand pit, rollers, ride on tractors). Hoping to come again before the year is out.

Myself and my three little girls arrived at Newgrange Farm on a beautiful sunny day in May. We parked up and were greeted at the gate by a very friendly staff member and paid a total of €21 for entry. As we continued to walk in the gate a very nice lady popped out of the gift shop and asked if I would like to leave our picnic with her and she would place it in the fridge! This was super and very much appreciated!
The farm is nice with plenty of friendly and helpful staff about.
My girls loved the water play area and would have gladly spent the afternoon there.
The sheep race was also very popular and a super idea!
My main concern however was this old tractor in a shed which had mental steps up to it for the kids to sit in ( super idea ) but the mental steps a bit dangerous but this was my concern with a busy 1year mad to climb everything!
The farm has plenty to offer and nicely spaced out.
Tractor rides also on offer but we did not avail of this as I had the buggy with us.
We did not go to the Cafe on site but had a picnic on the grounds which was lovely. Plenty of picnic benches, with toilets and wash facilities there. Toilets could maybe do with a bit of TLC. Also plenty of hand sanitizer dispensers about which was good!
We had a super day at Newgrange Farm and most importantly the girls loved it! I was even asked today when we would be going back!
Definitely worth a visit!

We had a wonderful day here on a recent visit.
With three kids ranging from 2 - 4, all of them had a ball.
The animals were very accessible and were really well kept, seemed very happy.
The sand pit, "tunnels" and water play areas were a big hit with our little ones, and the picnic area was lovely and clean with plenty of green grass and picnic tables.
I could not fault the facilities and will definitely be back!
Thanks to all for a great day out.

I’ve visited a few times with nieces and nephews and it’s always a great day! There’s loads of space for kids to run around safely and you’re able to get really close to the animals. Feeding the lambs is always a favourite! The only negative of my last visit was it wasn’t great seeing the kittens and a puppy on its own available to be handled by people, and children, without any supervision and without anywhere to retreat to if the attention from multiple children grabbing them got too much.

Good working farm with lots of animals to pet and hold and also some other activities like pedal carting and a maze to entertain them. It was raining the day we went so we didn't get to appreciate in full. Would recommend a visit but there was one bit of sharp practice that annoyed and disappointed us. There is a tractor and trailer ride around the farm. The lady who sold the tickets mentioned it to us. After looking at the animals we saw it waiting for a full load of people and hopped on. Two minutes later a member of staff hopped on looking for €2.50 per person so €12.50 for the 5 of us. The lady who sold the tickets mentioned nothing about an extra charge and there was nothing by way of signage on or near the trailer indicating a charge. Naturally once you have got your kids on to the trailer and excited about what lies ahead, you're very unlikely to get off the trailer on hearing about the charge so they effectively have you trapped by deception. Hopefully it's not deliberate but it seems that way. As it happens the ride was one of the highlights of the trip.
Newgrange Farm, please make it clear to people before they get on the trailer that there is a charge involved. A simple sign on the side of the trailer is all that's needed.

Took to two grandchildren along with two grown up daughters - not sure who enjoyed it most lol. Plenty to do and see for ALL ages. Grandchildren loved it and didn't want to leave and kept asking to go back. Plenty of interaction with the animals and plants to do

Hi, is it necessary to make a booking to visit the farm or is it okay to turn up unexpected?
Thanks in advance!
