About
An unfolding story as unique as our smooth and flavourful, triple-casked whiskey, Slane Distillery is housed within the 250-year-old stables of the iconic Slane Castle estate. The new distillery pays homage to the resilient nature of our heritage and the surrounding lands that we call home. Allow our storytellers to immerse you into our wonderful world of whiskey. The fabrics of the Conyngham family tapestry are carefully woven through an interactive and immersive tour of our state of the art working distillery. Finish the tour in the best way possible, with a taste of our signature triple casked blend, Slane Irish Whiskey.

It is great to back on Tour and in Slane Distillery with clients for a Whiskey Tasting & Cocktail Making, not me my clients.
On arrival we were greeted by Garry who welcomed my clients and explained the Tour they were going on.
Garry introduced me to Claire & Barry in the Bar who arranged a Pot of Tea for me.
These people are so friendly & helpful, I strongly recommend Slane Distillery to you to call in or book a tour the next time you are the area.

This was one of the best tours I’ve ever had (and I’ve been on many tours of breweries, distilleries and wineries over the years). The background and information provided by our guide, Gary, was insightful and fascinating. Gary and every Slane employee we met were very welcoming and hospitable, the thoroughness of the tasting and quality of the whiskey itself were excellent, and the beauty of the property and facilities were top notch. This is a great visit even if you are staying in Dublin; it's a short drive from the city and the countryside is absolutely beautiful. Don't miss it!

really excellent tour today! I travelled with my dad who has early onset dementia. I mailed in advance to let them know. Straight away on arrival the staff were so accommodating. Gary our tour guide was great, really friendly and engaging! He also deftly managed to deliver a fantastic tour despite my dad sometimes been a little challenging and wanting to get to the whiskey tasting asap 😆 the tour is a really interesting mix of history, culture and science behind the blending of the whisky which was delicious. Needless to say we left with a bottle of Slane whiskey. Well done and thanks again Gary! Niall

Been living 25 mins from Slane and never went to the castle or distillery until this week. Shame on me! What a beautiful place with a historic past and a very bright future. More authentic than many of the distillery tours I’ve been on in Ireland, with such a good and good-humored tour guide (James). The whiskey isn’t bad either, but really looking forward to their own distilled in a few years!

Absolutely brilliant tour. Went with a group of friends and family and even the non whiskey drinkers were very impressed. The attention to detail and preservation of the old buildings and features are really impressive. Keith was our guide and was very informative and had a great understanding of the processes involved. All topped off with a tasting in a lovely tasting room. Would highly recommend it to anyone passing through tyhe Boyne Valley.

The Slane Whiskey Distillery is housed in the old castle stables. I believe the first batch sold was a blended whiskey bought in from another distillery. Most new distilleries do this till the first batch matures. It’s the reason Gin distilleries are popping up everywhere as you can sell you product immediately, no need to let it age in casks.
It’s a nice compact distillery and they have tours. Worth a visit.

Fantastic experience in Slane today. Really personal experience. Olivia was fantastic in the Gift shopping helping me with organising special cask edition. Gary was really personal gave us great historical context on the castle, the music, the distillery and whiskey. Sold us on a cocktail masterclass class for our next visit.
The cocktails on the menu and Irish coffee were top class.
Great family day all in.
3 generations of my wifes family equally enjoyed the experience

A fantastic tour and tasting conducted by our knowledgeable guide Gary. We learnt a lot about Slane, the Castle and the art of whiskey distilling. The tasting was a great way to finish off. Thoroughly recommend the tour and great value for money.

We as a family together with our children's partners visited Slane Distillery today. From the moment we met James our tour guide it was extremely relaxed. It was the introductory tour and James showed us around the grounds and the Distillery explaining the history of both the castle and the distillery.
James explained the whole whiskey process in easy to understand terms and made the whole tour enjoyable. Finishing off with a dram of the Conyngham finest and a refreshing cocktail.

All year round and most evenings 6oc and sat and Sunday but the whiskey and castle and river and restaurant for some is more than 4hour stop-so I recommend 11-12 is a good arrival time-there is so much in the Boyne valley tour-1day will not satisfy you with hill of Tara -Newgrange-Dowth Hall-Drogheda -Trim Castle/Killeen Castle-I love giving this tour from 9oc-9oc from now to August 16 u have daylight to finish with a walk in the bog and a visit to a shebeen and some music
