About
An unfolding story as unique as our smooth and flavourful, triple-casked whiskey, Slane Distillery is housed within the 250-year-old stables of the iconic Slane Castle estate. The new distillery pays homage to the resilient nature of our heritage and the surrounding lands that we call home. Allow our storytellers to immerse you into our wonderful world of whiskey. The fabrics of the Conyngham family tapestry are carefully woven through an interactive and immersive tour of our state of the art working distillery. Finish the tour in the best way possible, with a taste of our signature triple casked blend, Slane Irish Whiskey.

The Distillery at Slane Castle
Jan 2020 • Couples
The Slane Whiskey Distillery is housed in the old castle stables. I believe the first batch sold was a blended whiskey bought in from another distillery. Most new distilleries do this till the first batch matures. It’s the reason Gin distilleries are popping up everywhere as you can sell you product immediately, no need to let it age in casks.
It’s a nice compact distillery and they have tours. Worth a visit.

VIP TOUR BY GARY
Mar 2020 • Friends
We ended up driving 3 hrs. They were closed that day. Gary the manager took us on a wonderful VIP tour of the distillery. I must say we learned about the true making of whiskey. The whiskey is amazing. I will be back from the USA just to come back and bring my friends. Thanks Gary and staff for being so helpful to cousins from the US and recommending place to go to learn of the heritage of the town.

Smaller by Jameson standards, BUT well worth the visit! Beautiful setting, nice tour, friendly and informed guide, and the tasting was very well executed and, of course, good whiskey was had! (and great swag available in the shop ;) )

Excellent experience

Incredible experience, the tour guide Adam made the whole tour very easy going, easy to ask questions and gave a very detailed description of every aspect of the distilling process. The whole atmosphere is amazing! The ideal day is to arrive, have lunch in Brownes bar and make your way over to do the distillery tour.

Really interesting place
Jan 2020 • Friends
Been living 25 mins from Slane and never went to the castle or distillery until this week. Shame on me! What a beautiful place with a historic past and a very bright future. More authentic than many of the distillery tours I’ve been on in Ireland, with such a good and good-humored tour guide (James). The whiskey isn’t bad either, but really looking forward to their own distilled in a few years!

Great tour - Flann was the man!
Dec 2019 • Business
This trip was part of a day tour for a company day out. We had a big international group and everyone loved it. Having done Jameson in Smithfield over the summer, there’s no comparison. This is great and the whiskey is lovely. I’ll be bringing people back for sure. Came out with a lovely bottle of whiskey that was enjoyed over Christmas.

Absolutely brilliant tour. Went with a group of friends and family and even the non whiskey drinkers were very impressed. The attention to detail and preservation of the old buildings and features are really impressive. Keith was our guide and was very informative and had a great understanding of the processes involved. All topped off with a tasting in a lovely tasting room. Would highly recommend it to anyone passing through tyhe Boyne Valley.

Slane Day Out.
Aug 2019 • Friends
Well we went to Slane Castle and had a tour of the distillery. It was facinating. Such an interesting tour it was. Our tour operator was a font of knowledge. Even down to telling us how they did not want to upset the Fairy's. It really is so good to see the stables and outhouses put to such good use. Facinating tour and then at the é D a free taste of the Slane whiskey. Such a smooth taste. Must be from using the Jack Daniels casks. Enjoy.!!!!
