Have always loved this pub + been a patron for over 30 years - both my sons had their communion parties here many years ago - but any time I've been in over the last couple of years it's been overcrowded + loud. 3 times this year we've been in for food - which is always excellent - but have had to wait for up to an hour for a table. Last time was just over the hour + the noise level was so bad we couldn't even hear each other across the table!! There was football on the TV's + a live band set up towards the end of our meal so we beat a retreat when we were finished. The food when we got it was excellent as always, the service quick considering how many were in there - possibly most were only drinking hence it was quicker. Think this place has become a victim of it's own success! Suggestion would be to separate the restaurant + bar so people who go out to meet can actually talk to each other!!

We were in the bar and restaurant and the food was fantastic. We went out for one of the Leinster matches. The pub was packed with all the supporters. And the craic was great. Would highly recommend it for any occasion. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

We only popped in for a quick pint before going to look for food. A Sunday evening, it was busy with a live band playing in the middle of the bar. We ended up having 2 pints of Guinness. The staff although busy were friendly and service quick (as fast ad you can pull a pint of Guinness) An enjoyable couple of hours.
