This was one of the best experiences of my life, hands down. So much beauty, from start to finish. Páll is not only a patient & incredible photographer, but he is a kind & wonderful person. Knows all of the most majestic places, & at the right times. An artist & a friend. I’m eternally grateful, thank you. I’ll cherish these always!

We booked a Northern Lights photography tour on our first day in Reykjavik prior to embarking on our Ring Road adventure. Unfortunately, it was very cloudy and raining all day. Páll was consistently in correspondence and transparent that we wouldn't be able to see the Lights, so we rescheduled the tour when we returned to Reykjavik 9 days later. We gathered that conditions would need to be *just* perfect to see the Lights, so we didn't expect too much for rainy season. Lucky for us, Mt Fagradalsfjall had become active again the day after we arrived! Páll was incredibly flexible and open to changing the plans to see the volcano since it was raining again on our last day. We were VERY grateful for Páll's expertise and knowledge of the terrain on a rainy night. It was an incredible sight!! Thank you, Páll, for your photo tips, responsiveness, and flexibility! We had an amazing time!

Hi Jennifer! Thank you for your kind words! Yes, we had a good trip/hike to see the volcano, even though the conditions were not the best, not to say more :-) But it was fun, and amazing to see the lava flowing down the hill in front of us in the dark. I am glad that I was able to help you that night :-) Hope to see you in Iceland again one day! Greetings from Iceland Páll Jökull

Friends and I spent a week with Páll on a photographic workshop. Iceland is amazing and Páll showed us the best of it. He is a great photographic instructor and guide. We saw improvement with our photos as the week progressed thanks to his help. I recommend Páll Jökull Highly and can’t wait to return for another workshop with him.

I just came back from an amazing 6-day photography tour of East Iceland with Páll Jökull. I booked the tour based on what Páll wrote me about the area and his philosophy of photo tours: a small group, good company and the opportunity to photograph a less-touristy area of Iceland. East Iceland has beautiful fjords, waterfalls, and mountains, and I personally prefer to go to the less-well-known places. I also liked how passionate he sounded about the beauty of Iceland. Bottom line: best international photo tour I've ever been on! I was a little worried about booking as a solo female traveler, but there was nothing to worry about. First of all, it was a small, intimate group of four, which allowed us all the flexibility we needed to move about quickly and easily, stopping by the side of the road if any of us saw a good photographic opportunity, and there were plenty of those! Páll and his collaborator/co-organizer Arjan Wilmsen were clearly enjoying themselves along with us, and this created a really pleasant interaction among the four of us. Páll and Arjan handled all the details of transportation, lodgings, and the itinerary, and found us great restaurants for lunch and dinner (those meals were not included in the price of the tour). Every day was full of photographic opportunities from morning to evening: fjords, mountain ranges, waterfalls, gorgeous canyons and tiny rustic villages. I learned so much from both Páll and Arjan, as well as from Lee, my fellow traveler and a creative photographer in his own right. This is the tour for a serious photographer who doesn't mind going a little off the beaten path to find places which only a local photographer would know. There's a huge difference between the size of the usual photography tour, 8-12 people, and this tour which was practically private. I got plenty of one-on-one attention and guidance which really enriched my experience and enabled me to grow as a photographer. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Páll again!

Hi Alice Thank you for booking this tour with me, it was wonderful to meet you and spend the six days photographing and exploring this beautiful part of Iceland. The small groups that I prefer to lead, work quite well and things become easier and more flexible when the group is small. The magic happens with the passion and fun we were having all the time, jokes and stories are a necessary part of a workshop like this, and some deep discussions about photography and post processing widen our horizons. Arjan and I had a great time with you guys, and we hope to see you again one day on another Iceland adventure with us in the coming years. Cheers! Páll Jökull
