Such a unique experience and I am so glad that we made reservations to have lunch here. Neither my husband nor I care for tomatoes but I had read so many amazing things about this place that we felt like we should just do it....More
On our itinerary this looked like one of those ho-hum destinations bu it was nothing like that... The greenhouse, restaurant and Icelandic horse show was yummy... Honestly, the tomatoes were as good, if not better, than any other tomatoes... Anywhere! And it was absolutely fascinating...More
We had a short tour (pre-arranged) of the indoor tomato farm where three types of tomatoes are grown. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and she was very willing to answer questions about the whole cycle of growing tomatoes indoors in Iceland. We had lunch...More
The soup buffet with delicious homemade bread is great! The atmosphere of the place (dining between the tomato plants) wonderful, and the service perfect.
Although the tomato soup buffet, served with tasty toppings, is satisfying… we couldn’t resist ordering a tomato ice cream for dessert...More
Fridheimar is a true gem located on the Golden Circle. It's a fully tomato based greenhouse and restaurant, which is so cool to experience. All the items are freshly made, including the bread which is so delicious. The blood marys are amazing and the tomato...More

The tomato soup is wonderful and comes with veriaty of delicous types of bread! There is refill as much as you want:)
The rest of the food is also good.
Great option for lunch if in the area.
An amazing hot house envirnonment which grows tomatoes 24/7 x 365 days, only for local consumption, they do not export. Computer controlled heaters control the temperature in whar can be a very cold climate. Highlight is the crusty bread served with fresh tomato soup!
What a lovely place for a unique and delicious lunch! Walked around the greenhouses, looked at the horses in the stables, sampled the tomato sauces, and settled for a filling and wonderful lunch next to the tomato vines. The soup and bread buffet was perfect,...More
We stopped here on our own accord (not part of a tour group) for lunch and were not expecting it to be such a busy, touristy popular place. Instead of waiting 30 mins for a table, we opted to order the soup from the bar...More
For tomato lovers or farm to table enthusiasts this is an experience not to be missed. Come for the tomato soup but also enjoy the unique greenhouse restaurant and it’s beers and pasta dishes...and while you are at it, have some of the amazing fresh...More

There is no tour of the greenhouse's, when you are seated the waitress goes into great detail on how the tomatoes are grown and the running of the greenhouse. Once you are seated you are free to roam around and speak with the owner if he is about. Watch the bees buzzing by and see their colonies. Very Very interesting great concept. We were in Iceland in April and the horse's were in the barn.
