We took the Porsmork tour. Bit of a curate’s egg. -jeep turned up 30 minutes late -the pick up location was not in the car park by the Selfoss waterfall but in a campsite 1 km away -the Jeep is an old specially converted station wagon capacity said to be 14 but By the time they crammed in 11 of us there was not much space left. If you are over 6 ft tall you will find there is no legroom -you get to see fantastic scenery that you certainly cannot experience in a two wheel drive car and probably not in most 4 X4s. It had rained hard the previous day and some of the rivers we crossed were in full flood with an enthusiastic guide. -you get right up close to glaciers and they talk you through the impact the 2010 eruptions had on the area -you get to go on a hike which is either 40 minutes (easy) or over 1 hour more difficult but rewarded by stupendous views -lunch is in the Volcano Hut in the middle of nowhere, reasonably basic but great soup

An excellent day trip, our guide “Kevin” (because his real name was too hard to pronounce) was attentive, funny and made our trip even more enjoyable. We started with the glacier as the weather was due to turn, and he wanted us to see it without getting soaked. It was stunning, well worth the walk, although I would suggest if you have remotely slippery shoes, buy some grips. At times it was a bit of a struggle to find a non-slippery part of the path to walk on. Don’t let that put you off though...it was beeeeaauuutiful! Then on to black beach in Vik, followed by the two waterfalls (one of which featured in Game of Thrones) Walkways to the waterfalls was again quite slippery, sheet ice in places, but I genuinely didn’t see anybody fall, so as long as you take care, and have good grip on your shoes, it shouldn’t be a problem. Kevin, brought samples of Icelandic food and drink for us all, and then dropped us off back in Reykjavik as near to our Airbnb as he could. I would highly recommend this trip, it was 10 hours with an 8am pick up, and worth every penny.

An excellent day with a great guide. We had enough time each stop to explore the area due to careful planning by our guide. Maximum time was made of daylight hours and we not only learned a lot but he created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere on the bus. Would definitely recommend your day tours for this kind of trip

I did the south coast tour and it was amazing. The beauty of what we saw, the excellent and relevant commentary, and the Icelandic folklore tales all added to an unforgettable day! Our tour guide was amazing and ensured we even saw things not on the itinerary. Additionally, she stayed with us on all the sites and told us what we were experiencing. If you truly have limited time and want to see as much of Icelandic geography as you can, do this tour and the Golden Circle and you will truly get an appreciation for this beautiful country. It is well worth the money and you will have an unforgettable experience.

It was a full day South Shore Adventure - The bus ride passed thro' some gorgeous mountain views. Saw snow shrouded Hekla, the country’s most active volcano, as well as the famous Eyjafjallajökull Volcano in the distance. Stopped at the spectacular Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, tumbling over high rock escarpments. Then went past Dyrhólaey, a magnificent rocky headland with dramatic sheer cliffs to Vik, Iceland’s most southerly village. The next stop was Reynisfjara black sand beach where you can view the Reynisdrangar rock formations as well as the curious hexagonal columnar basalt cliff walls. It was a truly amazing experience.
