We have tried out all the horse centers around Reykjavik and we say without any hesitation: as well as for the beginner as for the experienced rider, it's just a dream. The horses are well treated, well trained, the tours are awesome (our preferred one is the "beach tour"), the guides are professionnel and very friendly.

Great organization, small groups that made you feel like you were getting personal attention. They kept pace with the slower riders, but at the same time let the more experienced ones go faster.

Fab place, brilliant attitude, definitely go out for a ride with these guys. Pretty much a perfect day. Kit all included which was handy as was a bit windy to start, great scenery, they even take your photo on your camera at the 'Frozen' waterfall (clearly we went in winter!). They were one of the cheaper providers and pick you... More

We were warmly greeted upon arriving here for some riding. 5 of us rode with one guide. We were provided with rainproof outerwear and boots as it was a bit rainy. The horses were lovely. We learned to tolt and got to canter some, too. Afterwards, they served us hot cocoa and coffee. Beautiful, warm farm!

Great experience riding the iconic icelandic horses! Well worth the 8,000 kroners for one hour of fun! Must try if you come to Iceland!

We wanted to do a short horse riding tour as riding an Icelandic horse was a bucket list item for my wife. After having no luck with a couple of the larger companies near hella (one looked closed up and lifeless the other we were pretty much ignored by staff as we waited at reception) we decided to head to... Today we had an awesome Icelandic Horseback Riding Experience at Solhestar Horse Ranch, about 45 mins away. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed a wonderful horse ride on the unique Icelandic Horses. We also had some great weather, not too cold, clear and no wind. We experienced their famous “tolt” gait, much like a trot, and... More

I am a first time horse rider and found the level of the 2 hour session to be just right. By the end I was galloping on the horse through the snow. The staff were excellent at making you feel welcome and setting you up for a ride through the lava fields. Pick up and drop off are available as... More

What an amazing experience, I enjoyed every second of it! I recently visited with three friends and I am so glad we did as it was definitely one of the highlights of my trip! We booked this trip at a local tourism shop in Reykjavik at a reasonable price (around £60 which is cheap in comparison). On the day of... More
