This was definitely the highlight of my trip. Solhestar, unlike some of the other local horseback riding tours, keeps group sizes small in order to allow the guides to better accommodate your needs. I opted for the 4-5 hour Beach Riding Tour, and it was...More

Had a really good time with the horses and guide joel! She's lovely! We can highly recommend it, the area around hveragerdi is amazing, bathing in the hot river was great!!! SOLHESTAR is only doing small groups, i like that!

This ride was incredible, definitely for the more experienced rider, but that was half the adventure! My horse was amazing and ready to go! The river crossing was super intense because it was so early in the season but it was aaaaammmmmmzing! The beach was...More

Sturla and Bridget were very friendly and welcoming. The horses were great and the route was enjoyable. Very close to Reykjavik - we did the horse riding in the morning and had plenty of time to do the Golden Circle in the afternoon.

Icelandic horses are such even tempered and fun horses to ride - along with being incredibly fluffy! On our trail ride I was pleased to be able to try the Tölt and the Flying Pace, two gaits I had never tried before. The staff was...More

We had a great time doing the three hour ride with Solhestar. Our horses were very good and not at all like the tired, bored horses you often encounter while trail riding in the US. The scenery was beautiful and our guide did a great...More

Probably a bit too young. If the 5 year old has riding experience then I guess that’s fine but you’ll have to ask them. But I’d say it’s too young.
