Recently took the standard tour with some friends and it was a lot of fun! You see some beautiful lava features and brighter colors than I would have thought and learn about lave and how it flows. Very fun for sure and next time I'd...More

My friend, partner & I journeyed in Iceland in the summer of 2016 and found this cave. Parked our car and went to see it. In front of the cave there was this big sign saying: wear safety hat, thick gloves, hiking shoes, headlights &...More

Wanted to visit a lava tube for some time and this one proved excellent. Facilities at the entrance are being remade (DON'T use the existing toilets!) but the tube itself is great, with a full explanation by the guide and chances to ask questions. Nice...More

We found this tour on line and thought we would give it a try on a rainy day ( who cares if you are under ground). Our guide was excellent and the basic one hour tour was fascinating and easy to do. We would definitely...More

We had a very good guide that clearly explained the different facets of the lava tunnel. Sometimes it felt like traveling back in time and imagining what happened when the lava was still flowing.

Amazing experience and very informative guides. You get a really good explanation of the formation of the cave and get to see all it's wonders. Definitely recommend this one for everyone who visits Iceland!

Great location, only 30 minutes from Reykjavík and the view, on a good day, just further down the road is fabulous (the Westman Islands, Eyjafjallajökull, Tindfjallajökull and Hekla) The caving experience is really enjoyable and everything is very well done highlighting the beauty of the...More

We have seen a lava tunnel before. This one was bigger, wetter, and had more interesting formations. Our guide was nice. They give you hard hats, which feel a little unneeded, but add to the fun and keep the water off. Footing is very uneven...More

This is a must do when in Reykjavik. There is an entrance fee to enter but well worth it as you find amazing formations in the lava tube. The tube is partially lit up but still dark and spooky. This is well worth the visit.

Took a Sunday morning trip with the whole family. It was poring with rain and the teenagers would have preferred sleeping longer. However, once underground all such thoughts were gone, replaced with admiration with the creativity of both nature and the people making it so...More

The above directions are correct. It's just a parking area on the side of the road and I did not see any tours with this as a destination.
