This is a great starting point to Vatnajökull park, the visitor centre is intreating, very helpful welcome centre, a shop, a restaurant/cafe, pic nic covered area and toilets. The hike up to the glacier is very nice, and its possible to buy a map of the park for all possible hikes and thing to see. It works well and great facilities.

My wife and I visited the area around the Vatnajökull National Park and stopped in here for a coffee, souvenirs, and to use the bathroom. All good - nice coffee, clean bathroom, lots of souvenirs, considerable amount of information in interesting displays, and very helpful staff. Very pleasant place to visit.
