This place is easy to visit for everyone. The parking is at the rim of the crater and from there you can see much of what is to be seen. If you want to see more, you'll have to walk higher up on the rim....More

I had seen this crater on some of the 4K TV demo videos. Took me a long time to figure out where it was. But once I realized it was in Iceland, I had to figure out how to get there. I was not disappointed....More

We've climbed our share of craters while in Iceland & this was probably the easiest. There is a large parking lot with no facilities. The walk up the left side of the crater is about 20-30 minutes. You can hike on if you wish. Great...More

Easy to get to, and beautiful to see. Viti means "hell" in Icelandic. We were there in May and there was still a crust of snow around the rim. Really beautiful.

More spectacular views and nature. The color of the water, snow on one side and views all around are really something.

We visited this in late April, when the lake at the bottom of the crater was still on ice so the full impact was not there. Nevertheless, the place is awesome and definitely worh a visit.s

It’s a beautiful little lake that sits in a volcanic crater. It is a little off the road, you have to travel for 25-30 mins to reach the site. Hardly 50 steps from the parking. Looked frozen and glassy when we visited. You can also...More
