Serene and beautiful lake in the town of Myvatn. Lovely calm place with beautiful nature around ranging from lake, hot mud pools and nature bath. The nature bath here is a perfect substitute to the hyped Blue Lagoon. Amazing hot water natural pool surrounded by...More

Fantastic place where you can enjoy the beauty of the Icelandic countryside and relax in its magnificent nature baths n the North of the country. A lot less crowded than the Blue Lagoon. You'll certainly love it!

This place was absolutely beautiful! Also, since it was a bit off season for tourists, there weren't very many people there. It WAS a particularly chilly and breezy day, so most people gravitated toward the "hot tub" which quickly became crowded. They do warn you...More

File us under the hipster umbrella of folks that say this is waaaay better than Blue Lagoon. And we didn't even go to the Blue Lagoon! But based on what we've read and heard (Blue Lagoon requires reservation, it's like $80 USD per person, and...More

I’m travelling around Iceland solo and I just love hot springs all over the world. And this was a special one. Forget the Blue Lagoon near Reykjavík - expensive, full of tourists and you have to book in days ahead. It’s a bit of a trip...More

If you’ve done the blue lagoon before the novelty will not be quite the same but we found this a much quieter experience without the vast queues and therefore a pretty relaxing way to spend the afternoon There are 2 large pools with seating areas...More

Due to the large crowds we skipped Blue Lagoon right away and tried other baths. Compared to Secret Lagoon and Krauma, I liked Myvatn best. It‘s big enough to enjoy the quiet beauty of the place and the surrounding hills.

Stunning location. Friendly staff. The water is so relaxing. Take your own towel to avoid renting one. They also offer bath robes for rental. Changing rooms have lockers & the same rules apply here as in all the other pools in Iceland. It's slightly cheaper...More

This is on the other side of the country from Reykjavik, about 4-5 hours of driving along the Ring Road. There are no buses, but you could fly from Reykjavik to Akureyri and rent a car or take a tour bus from there.

The showers and changing rooms are not private, though there are a couple of showers with a shower curtain, but no place to actually change into dry clothes.
