It was found from teenagers 40 years ago and is open for the public since 10 years, this cave is 6 million years old.
The stalactites are really cool and the guide will give you a lot of information.
No pictures are allowed , at least at the beginning . Afterwards was not a problem ?!?
The guide could be a little more polite and division of the groups a little bit more organised instead of adding more people all the time.
The price is 6 euro per person, pretty normal I think.
We heard everything in Greek, I am not sure if there are other languages available as well.

A 6,000,000 years old cave reveals his secrets to us.
A nice visit for the entire family.
Cave it’s self is the newest in Greece since it started to be visited only in 2009.
It’s a small cave on the lake ring road very close to city center.
300 mtrs round it takes 15 minutes more or less.
Guide are really trained and you will enjoy the walk.
Try don’t follow big groups, as less person the better.
Ticket is only 6 euro.

This is a relatively small cave, but due to its more recent discovery, (just before WW2,) it has not been vandalised like other sites. The accessibility works followed all scientific restrictions for preserving it, so the visitor can enjoy original views in comfort. Admission cost is minimal, (€4.00 if I remember well.) The visit can be combined with the adjacent Church and a lunch in one of the picturesque taverns by the lake.

We did not feel welcome as visitors, even though I phoned in advance, as advised on the website. They did not give us any tickets or receipt for payment and they did not want to give us the cave leaflet. While we were looking around the cave listening to the recording they came in and tried to asher us out as quickly as possible. The cave was interesting and a nice escape from the heat of the day. We stayed inside only 20 minutes. Payment was €6 per person and €4 for children.

+ Amazing cave. Fantastic stories to hear about.
- We paid the price as two separate visitors. However, we were group together with lots of other infividual visitors. Why not paying the price for group tickets if we are packed as a group?
- The tour guide sounded boring and didn't speak loud enough for the people at the back of the group to hear clearly. He didn't wait for all the group to gather together. He was in a rush, only to get the job done.

Although not a massive system it was well worth the euro €6 entry charge. The formations inside are really impressive and the walking surface is even, with several sets of steps. The commentary was only in Greek but then most of the tourists were Greek and we were given a leaflet in English at the beginning.

You would never think that You can find caves in such place, still very close to the town.
The caves are small, around 350 mt long, easy to visit also for children, well maintained and with english and greek speaker.
Must be seen if You are in the area.

Family run taverna, popular with Cretan families and visitors alike. Highlights: panoramic views, great BBQ grilled chops, and the totally addictive greek yoghurt, rose syrup and melon pudding.
You may even spot the Dragons (Mr and Mrs Drakou) hard at work in the restaurant, and the cave in the hillside above the taverna.

We read about this attraction and made it a high point of our visit in the historic part of Kastoria. The cave was an experience as speleologists have made it safe and accessible to the public. Inside the lighting enriches the experience of the incredible cascading stalactites and stalagmites with small ponds bringing color in the calcium palace. A guiding audio system guides and highlights in some parts of the cave. Only drawback was that quests have limited time as our exhalations and CO2 destroys the interior. So take some flashless photos fast
