An absolutely stunning church. The building dates from the 11th century, although part of a mosaic floor found under the current floor confirms previous buildings from much earlier. Some of the religious paintings that cover every inch of the ceilings and walls also date from the 11c although most of them date from 1573. Yes, a brilliantly preserved interior 500 years old. It just feels serene and special. Only €2 to enter, a contribution to restoration works seemed appropriate, and a large car park to one side. An interior equal to and possibly better than some of the monasteries.

Totally alone, friendly lady, breathtaking church, little pearl in the village you can reach easily from the square but also by the path down from the meteora. We were 3, my sons of 11 and 13, we tried to understand the " cartons" from the past. They liked it but we are a museum visiting family but I think it is also for children fascinating if you stay not too long and look together.

Our guide took us there and we were quite amazed. He gave us a full history lesson and I was surprised that church was so incredibly decorated inside with mural paintings dating back to the beginning of christianity.

Our tour guide took us here and while, the age of this church is impressive, the interior is quite dark and hearing the explanation of the frescoes was not of interest to us.

Lovely old church that has a lot of history. Well worth a visit. It is a bit of the beaten track but worth finding.

What a hidden gem. A guide who knew the history convinced us to go. Incredible. So much history inside and on the exterior walls. There is an entrance fee AND you won’t be able to photograph the inside. See it anyway. It was my favorite site at Meteora. Yes, even more than the views.

We went to this church as part of our Sunset Tour with Visit Meteora. We had walked past this church couple of times earlier, but never thought of going inside which is a shame since this church though small has witnessed so many different cultures, wars, invasions etc. and provides great insights into history of Meteora. The church has an entry fee. There isnt lot of signage or information in the church, so if you go by yourself, make sure you google and find the information. Definitely worth a quick stop if you are in town.

This Byzantine church is a "must see" The rich layers of history are there in the frescoes, the columns and the unique mosaics underneath the floor. Our tour guide explain the layers of history all contained in the little beautiful church.
