The Lighthouse on the small island in front of Gythio is easy accessible on foot - it takes 10 minutes.
The Lighthouse is picturesque, but you can’t get close as it is navy property. Never mind, turn around and walk back - and now you will discover the beautiful views to the city. Even more picturesque!
The small island itself consists of pleasant nature - locals go picnic there.

Very beautiful and massive lighthouse, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It's a little bit difficult to reach it, but worth the trouble.

If you feel like a walk a trip over to the lighthouse is a lovely way to pass the time but it is not a must see.
The lighthouse is closed but a great spot to look at the view or take a few photos.

The gates near the lighthouse were locked when we visited. The narrow peninsula was nearly vacant. But the view back to the town of Gytheio was pretty.

A funky small lighthoise that is clearly visible as you pass thru town, I find these kind of sites exciting as we don't have a lot of lighthouses where I reside.
Well maintained amd a great photo oportunity.

Nice walk aground but you are not permitted to go in the area. There is the sign at the gate "No entrance".

We visited the islet of Kranae with hopes of seeing both the Gythio Lighthouse and the Tower of Tzanetakis. Unfortunately both were closed so we got outside views only. That said, Kranae is lovely with nice grounds, some oceanfront access and great potential for development.

This lighthouse is located in Gytheio on an islet which is 5 mins walk from the main town. It is still functioning, the lighthouse light can be seen at night. It is a stone building but the best thing is the view across the bay and with the mountains in the background.

An isolated white lighthouse at the very end of the small Kranae islet. Nice walk from Gythio. Take your time to sit there and enjoy the tranquillity of the place, looking at the sea
