Great little stop on the way to the Christ of the Ozarks...
This is a little stop carved into the hillside w/ a picnic table, carved into the hill off the side of the road. The water is clear and cold. Though the water was drunk in early times as a panacea for many ailments...and the sign even claims that ferrous metal objects left in the water will become magnetized, I guess this process may take time, since it did not work for me in the short time I was there. Due to the fact folks are putting things in the fountain that has much algae growing in it, I chose not to test it's a curative properties.

    Quick stop, little history
Depending on when you go this may or may not be a stop for you, the season has been dry and water was not flowing. We stopped on the way back from another attraction that is on the same road. Read the plaque for the information, seen folks hiking above the spring, Parking and visit is free

    Pretty! Slippery by spring
We stopped at this particular spring in early June. It was really peaceful and pretty. We walked right up to the spring (it’s paved with rock), and it was quite slippery. This (along with Basin Spring) seems to be a popular spring. It’s right on the way to Christ of the Ozarks.

So according to the sign, it was believed that this spring could help cure drug addiction which was a huge problem in the Victorian era. Also it was privately owned and then deeded to the city. The spring was larger than I thought it would be and had actually rushing water. However since the water levels for the area have been high, the area in front of the spring was super wet and slippery so be careful. Be sure that you read the sign next to the spring and learn more than I shared here.

This place was slippery. Everyone almost wiped out, the kid actually did. But it was really cool to see. Not sure if things really get magnetized when put in the waters or if it’s the fountain of youth like claimed but I didn’t take any chances and rubbed it all over haha

It is pretty and a fun little stop. There are picnic tables. It is a small area that was easy to spot if looking for it. It didn’t seem like magnetic folklore was accurate, but the kids enjoyed seeing a working spring.

Not much to see here, but there is a great little pavilion and picnic table here to catch a bite to eat. With COVID we are not really eating in at restaurants, so we took our take out here a couple of times during our trip. The spring is pretty, but nothing to go out of your way to see. The trolley stops here too and the parking is free and shady, so maybe that would be a good thing to do as well.

Neat little picnic area. The landing beside/in front of the spring can be slippery from the algae. Peaceful cool little spot.

We came upon the spring by accident and we're so glad we did! This was one of the main attractions people used to come to Eureka Springs for and it has long since been forgotten. There are about 10 parking spots out front, a picnic area, a rain garden, and of course the spring itself. We thought it was a grotto for prayer and were delightfully surprised to find it was a historical place in Eureka.

This is cool because you can just go there. It is about 5 minutes to town but not in the hussle bussle section and the parking is free as is the fountain. We went to see it because we like the history of some of the things around Eureka. This one is free and you can take your family and eat there so definitely on the to-do list for us. It is an older attraction and hasn't been updated for a long time which adds to it's appeal in my opinion. People over the years have used it as a wishing well. It's just a cool place.

We took our group here and had some great pictures. It's a beautiful area with nice landscapes. The water fountain didn't work (spring water) but otherwise a fun stop.

Magnetic Spring is just as beautiful & carefully protected & preserved by the local Garden Clubs in Eureka Springs. A more interesting twist is the added lore of its magnetic qualities! We didn’t get to try, as most of the springs in town this weekend are frozen due to low temps!
