"With over 130+ exotic cats and other wildlife on display, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest big cat sanctuaries in the United States. The non-profit USDA licensed refuge, founded in 1992, has grown to become one of the Top 10 attractions in Arkansas and the most popular in Eureka Springs. Lions, cougars, leopards, tigers, and bears are displayed in large natural habitats surrounding the main compound enclosures and gift shop. Each animal has its own story/history plaque for self-guided tours and over night accommodations are available via the Safari Lodge, RV park, and camping facilities. Robert B, Thank you for your amazing review! We appreciate your feedback and acknowledgment of our dedication to saving animals' lives. We are a bit confused, since you gave us such a glowing review but only one star, was there some issue with your trip that caused the low star review? If so please email us at lisa@turpentinecreek.org so that... More

For being a not for profit organization, it was pretty good! The tour guide gave really great stories and was very energetic. We got to see some of the big cats extremely close, and they seemed to be very happy and well taken care of. Neat place! Not very stroller or wheel chair friendly, though!

Oh my!!! This is really a cause worth fighting for!! Turpentine Creek is a non profit, last refuge for many animals that were taken in by humans as pets or attractions for roadside zoos. For many of these animals it is the only way for them to have a life. The staff is so friendly and knowledgable about every animal... More

The tour was fascinating and it's wonderful that all the money goes towards helping rescue the animals.

Easy drive to location, price is very good and all money goes to support their work. They do offer a discounted military rate. Beautiful animals to see and the guides that take you on the outside loop tour are very good at what they do. Walking the outside loop takes about an hour but most of that time is spent... More

The Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is such a wonderful place. The animals, mostly big cats, at least one bear, and other animals, were abused or abandoned by their thoughtless owners. This is NOT a zoo, meant for tourist ogling - it is a place of new hope, and permanent peace for these beautiful creatures. You can either walk the facility... More

Of the four different big cat facilities I've been to, this is by far the most conscientious. This is NOT a private person's collection of pets masquerading as a rescue. This is the real thing. They rescue cats from bad situations and care for them with what seems to be very high quality care. They have their own on-site veterinary... More
