This very interesting place recommended by tour guides for their quality and consistency. You can buy here variety of Nepalese artifacts and beautiful souvenirs, but their particular forte are the singing bowls. We participated in an interesting presentation explaining the traditional healing and wellness promoting methods with the use of singing bowls. Om Handicrafts stand by their quality assurance. Their bowls are not cheap, but you know what you are getting.

Incredible store with the best assortment of healing bowls and accessories. Great staff who shared amazing knowledge with our group. We spent a couple of hours, did a healing and bought some beautiful items. A little hard to find but worth it.

We actually stayed in the apartments about the Handicrafts store. But the experience we had in Kathmandu was made better because out this place. We found this apartment on AirBNB.

The Handicrafts store is beautiful. They sell singing bowls and timshels. Manoj and his crew will take all the time that is necessary to ensure you get the proper bowl for your needs. They also instruct on its use.

The employees are all very kind and sincere. The store is clean and nice. Located very near Patan Square, it is a nice escape from the craziness outside.

Their singing bowls are beautiful. I did purchase one to be sent to my home. After it arrived, I received multiple telephone messages that were accusatory saying that I was sent the wrong bowl and that my bowl was sent to another US traveler and that I needed to send the bowl I received back to them. I got similar emails. Om handicrafts have never acknowledged their error and instead put the onus on us. The bowl that the other person received is not the bowl I purchased. We are hoping that Om will replace the other person's incorrect singing bowl.

I had been searching for a singing bowl for a while and as I headed to Nepal I figured there was no better place to buy one. Once I arrived in Thamel I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people selling singing bowls in the street all ranging in price and quality. I didn't mind spending a little more money if I could ensure the piece was legitimate, however, I soon became unsure of who to trust while buying one as I wanted one handmade in Nepal. Once I found Om Handicrafts in Patan I had knew I had to look no further. This store is wonderful, prices are fair for what you are getting and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly. They worked with me to find the singing bowl I was looking for and demonstrated various versions until I found the one I loved. If you're looking for a real handmade in Nepal singing bowl, this is your place!

I absolutely loved this little gem of a store, actually three stores together!, tucked back in an alley off the Patan Durbar Square. What a great find!! These three stores offer fair trade woven goods, jewelry, and singing/healing bowls. I actually went back and visited three days in a row to learn and study the singing bowls available and find the perfect one for me. The people there were so amazingly helpful and knowledgeable and went above and beyond for me. They were very upfront about costs and asked me what my budget was and never once tried to push me to a higher costing item. I felt very respected and left feeling like I made friends! They taught within a few quick lessons how to get the best sounds from the bowls and different ways to use them. Truly one of my highlights of my time in Nepal.

We stayed in the apartments above Om Handicrafts and although we were under the impression that all the rooms were on the same floor whereas they were actually on three separate levels the place was lovely. It was a family run business who were very friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable and felt very safe. And when there were strikes on the day of our departure when we talked about it beforehand they offered if we couldn't find anything ourselves (which was our intention) they would help us getting safe transport to the airport by finding us a car with green plates. Well recommended.

We visited this store with a group and I was immediately impressed with the competency of their demonstration of the products. The bowls themselves were of excellent quality and we purchased two which were shipped by UPS and these arrived at our home on the day that we returned as requested. Shipping was notified with a tracking number by email. The bowls were well wrapped and cushioned and in a proper marine ply box to protect them. This is not a cheap shop but one gets value for money and I would recommend them without reservation. Please note duty will be payable on receipt in the UK and presumably elsewhere in the EU. They took credit cards.

Staying at Om's Apartments (which is just above Om Handicrafts) was an absolute pleasure. It was beautifully appointed, clean, comfortable, warm and safe. Also it is situated in a very beautiful part of Kathmandu.
Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children age 10 and 6) were most perfectly accommodated in 2 separate apartments. Though we ate out a lot, there is a clean and well equipped kitchen upstairs.
The staff are both warm and professional. My children loved going downstairs to Om's Handicrafts to see their exquisite singing bowls and to chat to them and to listen to the magnificent sounds.
Manoj, Abhi and Raaz were always available to answer questions and to help us.
By the end of our stay I was very sad to leave such special people and a place that housed us so well. My only regret is not buying more singing bowls. They are truly therapeutic and make for wonderful gifts also.

So I had read about this place on Tripadvisor and decided I wanted to stop in and see what it was about. There are a handful of stores that I believe a Westerner would be interested in stopping by: Dukati (prices were really reasonable), Yala (had some luxury bath products and nice jewelry), Om, Sala (I was most enchanted with their blanket wool rugs as these would sell for over $1k in the US – NYC to be specific.) I’ll say, I found Om Handicrafts to be a bit sterile and at Western-like prices. Now did I buy something, yes, yes I did. I had wanted a 100% pure cashmere blanket and I thought in the United States these could range in the $400-800 price range depending on where you purchased. These at Om are part of a fair trade organization (which I prefer to support) and they had a masculine design to them (and I liked the chevron/herringbone/striped patterns in neutrals.) I paid $247 for a double bed size blanket (more for the couch in my particular opinion) and opted for a 4x4 weave. The less expensive weaves can be 1x1 (super thin) or 2x1 (medium to light weight and not as long or wide.) I will also say that the scarves that they offered are the same price as at Kopan monastery and look identical. And now that I have my blanket home, I'm disappointed to say that the edges are starting to show loose/frayed threads that are coming out of the blanket.
