We were touring Patan Dubai Square and was led to this little store. The owner did a demonstration, explaining the made, the difference in size, and balancing your chakras using these handmade singing bowl. I supposed they do a sound bowl therapy if u asked.

It may be seems abit pricey, but I feel that at least it gives u some peace of mind you are sold the real deal than other touristy places outside. He was patient to give us some quick crash course on how to use the bowl to its fullest potential! Looking forward to explore the one we picked.

satisfied with the bowl

I made a round trip through Nepal starting late March 2019. Already at home I intended to buy a good singing bowl and found one at the Tibetan Refugee Camp near Pokhara. Smaller size, dark color, handmade. Excellent personal advice to find the best suitable for me! These Tibetan people are worth to support their struggling for preserving their own culture and tradition.
One week later we were at Patan, Durbar Square, and we two stepped into the Om Handicrafts Shop. And there I was deeply impressed by the vibrations and tones of their bowls!! I never felt something like this. But, I had already found and bought my bowl! What to do with a second one? After weighing all aspects, I decided to buy another one there, a big one, 1.9 kgs, for healing purposes, that I can also put on my head and feel the vibrations from tip to toe throughout my body. This is unbelievably good and relaxing. Although the price was considerably higher than at the street shops, even the amateur notices that this is a class apart!! Can highly recommend.

Great Experience!

Om handicrafts is different than other places that sell singing bowls. All of their bowls are handcrafted with different precious metals. Their hospitality is the best. They don't just sell their bowls, but also provide a demonstration of a short therapy session, that will resonate with your soul.
Highly recommended!

sent the wrong bowl
Oct 2018 • Business
Their singing bowls are beautiful. I did purchase one to be sent to my home. After it arrived, I received multiple telephone messages that were accusatory saying that I was sent the wrong bowl and that my bowl was sent to another US traveler and that I needed to send the bowl I received back to them. I got similar emails. Om handicrafts have never acknowledged their error and instead put the onus on us. The bowl that the other person received is not the bowl I purchased. We are hoping that Om will replace the other person's incorrect singing bowl.

If you want s singing bowl this is the place

This place is wonderful and high quality. If you are looking for a high quality gift or want a signing bowl for yourself that will last get one here. Yes the price is higher than other places but so is the quality. I saw several bowls throughout travels and they did not compare in quality.

Lovely experience, but remember they are trying to sell you a bowl!
Apr 2018 • Couples
The people here are very nice. They explain how the bowls are made and of course how their's is better than everyone else! The sales pitch is not heavy and I left mum to do all the work. I sat and watched the life going on around the place. But beware, they have jewellery also! Understand, you will end up paying something like $375 for a nice bowl and it is unique, so we went with the flow.
Nice place, but you are here to be sold a bowl!

Wonderful singing bowls!
Apr 2018
I had been searching for a singing bowl for a while and as I headed to Nepal I figured there was no better place to buy one. Once I arrived in Thamel I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people selling singing bowls in the street all ranging in price and quality. I didn't mind spending a little more money if I could ensure the piece was legitimate, however, I soon became unsure of who to trust while buying one as I wanted one handmade in Nepal. Once I found Om Handicrafts in Patan I had knew I had to look no further. This store is wonderful, prices are fair for what you are getting and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly. They worked with me to find the singing bowl I was looking for and demonstrated various versions until I found the one I loved. If you're looking for a real handmade in Nepal singing bowl, this is your place!

A Fair Trade Showroom
Oct 2017 • Solo
This Handicrafts store is located in an area that was obviously hit hard by the 2015 earthquake. Thankfully this store survived and has been just about fully restored. The store offers for sale an extensive amount of authentic Nepali items such as singing bowls, statues, carvings and prayer wheels.

During my visit, I was given an comprehensive display of the history and use of the singing bowls. These bowls are said to help aid in minimizing minor aches in the body. This is done in part by helping the user to relax and focus. The sizes of the bowls range from smaller to large enough to stand in. I purchased a smaller bowl and was please to be advised that the purchase included a cushion and two mallet; one of the mallets is used to circle the bowl until it rings, the second is used to “hammer” the bowl. I was able to have the items mailed to me in the United States; I received the shipment shortly after my return home in perfect condition. Also included was a set of instructions.

While the items in this showroom are more expensive than the items offered by street vendors, it is easy to tell that these items are authentic pieces and not just for souvenir collection. I found the prices to be fair and left with the knowledge that I was assisting a business in Patan that was hit hard by the earthquake.

So helpful and knowledgeable!
Apr 2017 • Solo
I absolutely loved this little gem of a store, actually three stores together!, tucked back in an alley off the Patan Durbar Square. What a great find!! These three stores offer fair trade woven goods, jewelry, and singing/healing bowls. I actually went back and visited three days in a row to learn and study the singing bowls available and find the perfect one for me. The people there were so amazingly helpful and knowledgeable and went above and beyond for me. They were very upfront about costs and asked me what my budget was and never once tried to push me to a higher costing item. I felt very respected and left feeling like I made friends! They taught within a few quick lessons how to get the best sounds from the bowls and different ways to use them. Truly one of my highlights of my time in Nepal.

Incredible Selection

This fair trade store has an amazing selection of scarves and jewelry but the real stars are the top quality singing bowls. We've purchased several bowls that are far superior to the ones on the street. The demonstration of the singing bowls is interesting and educational.
