This stunning temple is Nepal’s finest example of Shikhara style architecture, not quite as popular as the Pagoda style but taller and more ornate.

Still in scaffoldings following th earthquake, but devotees come to pray and chant all the same, it made me feel full of respect... and sadness, let's hope the renovation keeps going.... For birdlovers: saw 2 owls coming out of it, probably also House Swifts! So hopefully the renovation will keep room for them...

This temple of incredibly beauty and craftsmanship is another magnificent example of how Patan must been like in their 17th century heyday. Near the square it is absolutely great even after some damage by the earthquake

This temple is inside the Patan Durbar square. Very impressive with its stone structure, and 21 golden pinnacles. The temple walls have engravings of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Cannot miss this ancient structure.

Even after massive earthquake that hit Nepal exactly a year before, Krishna Mandir Temple stands still with no damage to its structure. When you visit Patan Durbar Square, you can visit Temple as well, it's in the same premises opposite Durbar Square

We visited this during our Nepal trip in December 2010.Shikhara style architecture of this temple is amazing. This is the most important temple in Patan Durbar Square. It is built using the Shikhara architecture style imported from India and not the Pagoda style popular in Nepal. The stone carvings on the beam above the first and second floor pillar is most... More
