Nagarkot offers multiple trails -including the Nature Trail - and none of them are very difficult. I would describe them as moderate.
The nature trail starts in the town of Nagarkot itself and leads through the typical for this region beautiful forest. It is relatively well kept and actually portions of it were being maintained while we hiked. There are not many explanatory signs but there is one at the entry point. We did not see many animals, but we could hear the birds.
The landscape varies, nice streams, narrow paths. The opportunity to constantly go "up and down" keeps hikers interested and focused.

Nagarkot have a ideal hilltop view throughout the road. I have rented a motorbike which cost me around 1200 npr from thamel, it's 30 killometre from thamel. it is located at 7200 ft above sea level. Once i have reached there the view was amazing throughout the road.

It is the transit point for Helambu and Lang-tang trekking.

We started the walk from the village (signposted). An easy walk, about 1.5 hrs. On reaching the road at the end, turn right and look for the 'Farmhouse' accommodation. The temple nearby is visible from the road. The deck had wonderful views and was a great place to relax after the walk - with a beer.

Check both the weather and pollution level before the trip for a better expectation of what you'll witness and experience. Kathmandu is a valley and the pollution does trap at nagarkot. The PM2.5 was severe in the 3 days I was there. No mountain range in sight due to haze. Rather my throat sore and eyes teared. Be prepared to avoid disappointed.

Nagarkot nature trails is a leisure walk. It takes around a couple of hours to complete the trail. The trail is like a circuit so you don't have to come back in the same route to reach Nagarkot. Half of the trail is in the forest and the remaining walk is through the valley. It is a pretty well laid out trail so you dont require a guide. The starting point is near the Nagarkot elementary school. You can see a sign board marking the entry.

If you're feeling fit and don't mind a few ups and downs the Nature Trail at Nagarkot is a good way of getting the feel of the countryside of Nepal. Lots of steps to negotiate and a steep climb up the road to finish off.

Nagarkot nature trails is an interesting relaxed walk. It takes a couple of hours to 4 hours to complete the circuit. Being a circuit you dont need to come back in the same route to reach Nagarkot. half of the circuit is in the fores area and the remain walk is through the valley view. It is apretty well laid out trail so you dont require a guide. The starting point is near the Nagarkot elementary school. You can see a sign board marking the entry. the first few metres of the trail (200m) you might encounter some human faeces, part of the nature what can you do? so take care not to step into it. once you maneuver past this it is very pleasant and green. Enjoy your trek and guys please be conscious not to litter.

This trip is a very easy and short trip from kathmandu to Nagarkot. Peolple looking for an escape from a hectic and tiring daily routine, this trekking may be the best available option for them to get up-close to the Natural beauty Nagarkot posses.
