- toolonginexileBirmingham, United Kingdom194 contributionsBest venue for milesJust got back home from watching Van Morrison at The Stables. What an excellent gig, the whole place was rocking. What made to more special was the theatre itself. Modern and clean with wonderful staff, who seem to be volunteers. So polite.and helpful. Drinks are not too expensive and are and they are served in proper glasses not your plastic rubbish unlike other venues, take note Birmingham Rep and others in the Midlands. The sound system was excellent and better still, the tired seat was great, I recommend the stall, sitting in row CJ, the row in front, and those behind, which give a great view of the stage, which was extended for the gig. Even then the stage is not to far back. Clean toilets reasonable priced snacks. I wish we had a decent venue like this in Solihull. They have an almost live show show most nights weekly right up to September. Well done the Stables for showing the way other small theatres should operate. They have a smaller studio theatre. Highly recommend the venueVisited March 2023Written March 15, 2023
- Chris BBiggleswade, United Kingdom123 contributionsA Great VenueWent to see Fairport Convention. The stage was down a flight of stairs and my wife has limited mobility, but the staff could not have been more helpful, conducting us to the lift (which isn't generally available), offering to take us back up during the interval and escorting us back after the concert. Good facilities = bar, coffee, snacks - plenty of parking and good seating. Bad news is that there are moves afoot to demolish and build houses- Johnny Dankworth must be turning in his grave...Visited October 2019Written February 11, 2020
- elaine oBedford, United Kingdom29 contributionsgreat entertainment , sort out the bar ,Great show with The Dublin Legends, great music very entertaining, only issue was at the bar , We ordered a Lager top , and they tried to charge an extra 75p for a splash of lemonade , my son pointed out that you have to pour less lager and top with lemonade so it should be a maximum price of the pint . The price is expensive enough!. also the only non alcoholic beer they had was becks blue , As the theatre is quite remote my husband is our driver so can't drink alcohol , we feel it would be good to offer a more varied amount of alcohol free beers ales and ciders, I'm sure they would sell .Visited March 2022Written March 29, 2022
- Dick-AprilCheltenham, United Kingdom40 contributionsLack of informationIf you look at the seating plan, when booking tickets, you will note the first three rows of the "horse shoe" shaped auditorium indicate...."people around you may stand".... On the night of said concert, quite a number of people were standing up and enjoying themselves. The atmosphere was great. Suddenly, the guards, sorry, I mean volunteers, were almost pulling people out of the way. There was one particular female guard who was actually quite unpleasant and went out of her way to ruin the evening. WHY bother to indicate one can stand?? Just supposing if all the customers had decided to stand in the said seats ( I think it is about 60 -70?? ) I expect said guard would have pulled the speaker plugs out. The place should clarify this situationVisited October 2022Written November 28, 2022

- Graham D2 contributionsGreat venueSaw Think Floyd here. I'd seen them many times before but this was one of the best venues I'd seen them in. An intimate arena, close to the action, fantastic acoustics and great views, even from the seats on the sides. Really enjoyed the show here.Visited January 2020Written February 18, 2020
- wendygundry8 contributionsEnjoyable VenueLovely venue. Problems with accessibility parking due to it being full early into the evening and very long queues for the bar. Shame the restaurant has not re-opened. Very enjoyable evening - comfortable, even in the very hot weather. Very helpful staff.Visited July 2022Written July 25, 2022
- Linda M1 contributionDisappointing Christmas treatMusic was too loud to hear actors speech particularly at the opening of the play The princess amd the pea. Actors and venue were excellent but the play not suitable for young children. Lines delivered too quickly language too adult. 3 to.6 year olds no idea what was going on. 9 and 10 year old enjoyed some of it but not anle to recapVisited December 2021Traveled with familyWritten December 31, 2021
- Zanna2014Bedford, United Kingdom16 contributionsPenalised for the venue cancelling a show.Purchased tickets for a show on 6/9/21 which did not go ahead. We have already been to 2 other events at the venue so know for a fact that it is open and functioning. We were offered no explanation for the cancellation but were offered a refund however the venue kept a £5.00 admin charge to cover their own costs. In effect penalising us for receiving no goods / services at all. Given that we had no control over the cancellation or new booking date I'm not sure this is the way to encourage customers to return - or to thank NHS staff.Visited September 2021Written October 8, 2021

We went to see Think Floyd (which was amazing!). We both love the venue but the Staff are so helpful and attentive. I turned up with a broken foot and stupidly had standing only tickets. All the staff went out of there way to get me seat. It was very much appreciated. I would like to say a very special thank you to Raymond. Kind regards. Kenny &Kate.

Visited on Monday to see Mike Scott and Brother Paul of the Waterboys. They were out of this world. Exceptionally talented. Wonderful. Lovely theatre with such kind staff. Cannot rate them highly enough.
