About
Sulfur Pools - the average temperature of which is 32-38 C° - have an analgesic effect, and are very beneficial for the skin, cardiovascular and endocrine systems, spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system, and more. The semicircle-shaped open-air pool has the warmest water, as it is the closest one to the well; the rectangular pool is larger and deeper; the smallest one is for children. The territory is equipped with free Wi-Fi, a café-bar, changing rooms, and showers. DIRECTIONS: Sulfur Pools are located about 3 km from Borjomi Park. There is no transportation system to the Pools. Enter the Park and walk across it, until the Park ends and the pathway up to the Pools begins.

If you want more adventure, I really recommend you to visit here and swim in winter time. It's incredible to swim in hot natural water while all the valley is covered by snow and if you will be lucky you can feel snow falling on your head while all your buddy is inside hot water.
The different of temperature will be 35 degree on winter and maybe it is same on hot summers

DON'T DO IT. Look at the photo. Water in the middle pool is green
Enjoy the walk in the forest along the creek but don't go into the pools. During our visit in July 2021 the air temperature was 20c, the pools might have been 20c... maybe.
The water was filthy. Floaty white bits. When my wife asked about one of the guys at the gate said "it's sulfur"
The 'official' photos are an absolutely lie compared to what we saw.

For those who are NOT squeamish! Complete disappointment. I was expecting some kind of spa, a cozy pool like the one in Pamuk Kale in Turkey. There you swim in the pool in mineral water, and there are bubbles in it. But here it’s just water that stinks of sulfur. At the same time, it is not flowing at all. There is no drainage or overflow along the sides of the pool. And the water is a thick suspension of debris that looks like snot. Particularly undemanding citizens can, of course, convince themselves that these snot are just “minerals” and they are just “candied”, yeah. But if there are constantly crowds of people in the water, including children and other citizens who dive, water pours into their noses, of course they blow their noses. And where do they do it? That's right, into the water. But there are no filters. So what is it, snot or minerals? At the same time, the size of the pool is, at most, 3 by 3 large and two even smaller. So it's just broth with snot. With all that, the entrance costs 10 lari and this does not include anything, not even a sun lounger, you have to pay for it separately, but if you don’t want to, sit on the grass with your butt. Super service!

Beautiful walk through the park to reach it, not difficult at all if you're in average physical shape, and it's what I enjoyed the most. When got there I've found 99% of people being noisy and messy kids jumping in and out (of course it's not their fault, they're kids and acting as kids, but parents and the pool's management should keep the kids in the kids' one (there are two for a reason and it's called kids pool), this way the experience is totally ruined. I do not recommend it unless they change policy and separate properly kids pool and adults pool.

Small pool with horribly misbehaving children jumping in the pool, absolutely no supervision. We complained and attendant came out to scold them but as soon as he left they began again, making it impossible to enjoy. The pools also did not appear very clean. We left after 5 minutes

We visited the baths when we were staying in Borjomi. This is a must do if you are visiting the area. It’s only 10 lari (about £3) and you can stay as long as you like. The water is warm and the area around very pretty. There are clean changing rooms and toilets. There is no transport to the baths, you have to walk there, it’s about 2 miles each way, first through the park and then on a stony dirt path by the river, mostly flat but one bit up and down. A lovely afternoon out if the weather is nice.

the road that the guide took us in the forest was horrible and slippery after the rain.
Better get there with electric car from the entrance to the borjomi park.
the showers were closed, the water in pools wasn't warm...
pretty dissapointing.

first of all there’s no way to get there by car. You gotta hike down the mountain or go through the Central Park about 30 mins. (In the first case you’ll need to hike up as well)
Place is full of flies, so you can not really relax.
Sulfur was in the water sometime ago, now there’s no even a smell.

Unfortunately, the sulfur pools and surrounding area were terribly overcrowded and disappointing. The pools themselves were dirty, with no trace of the characteristic sulfur smell—just regular, murky water. We ended up abandoning the pools and found a nice cold stream nearby to bathe in instead. Not what we were hoping for

A very long walk through the park, the entrance to which is GEL 5. The entrance to the pool is GEL 20. Lots of people, little pools. Teenagers manage to play in it with the ball, in short, pleasure for the amateur. I didn't like it. I wouldn't go again.

Hi can I swim in the sulphuric pools in winter. Are the pools hot water??
Written November 19, 2019
Good day.
Yes, you can swim in winter season. And there are quite many visitors in winter too.
Just take into account water temperature is +35 or +38 degrees by Celsius. Pools are not covered so Air temoerature varies +5 or +1 degrees Celsius
