I have had the pleasure of visiting ‘Il Bottino’ whilst on holiday in Calabria! I was invited by friends to meet up for an APERIVINO, thinking we would have a glass of wine and move on to somewhere else! But to my surprise the atmosphere was so welcoming and the service received exceeded my expectations of the place…that we ended up staying there for a good few hours! We were served a variety of mouth watering and delicious canapes, all home made and freshly prepared. It’s a family business run by two very charming young brothers Pasquale and Pietro! Pasquale a real wine expert. Apart from being a wine bar, one can also purchase bottles of wine, and a selection of spirits and it’s also an ideal place to buy local delicacies, all beautifully wrapped and presented, which made ideal gifts to bring back home! After discovering this little treasure.. we couldn't keep away and each time we went there, we were always greeted with a friendly smile and warm welcome, can honestly say it was the highlight of our holiday in Calabria…… can’t wait to go back there again! The service was excellent...and simply 'the best' in the area...also I must say it was very cheap…especially for someone used to London prices! Arrivederci guys...…
