In 1875, Colonel Samuel West Peel built a marvelous villa tower Italiante mansion on the outskirts of Bentonville, Arkansas. It was a working farmstead surrounded by 180 acres of apple trees. The Peel Mansion is an outdoor museum of heritage roses, perennials, and native plants. Various vignette gardens are interlaced among curvilinear walks and large shade trees creating a most appropriate setting for this great historic building of Northwest Arkansas.

Also on the site is the pre-Civil War Andy Lynch log cabin which serves as a gatehouse and Museum Store at the entrance to the grounds.

*Tours are available every hour on the hour.*

The Peel Mansion Museum & Heritage Gardens offers a variety of event options - wedding ceremony and reception, rehearsal dinners, group luncheons and tours, as well as civic or corporate events. We have the perfect venue for your special event!

This home was interesting and the guide made it even more interesting giving the story of Samuel Peel with some fun little antidotes. It's worth seeing and the tour takes about 1 hour.

We have visited the Peel Mansion a couple of times. Great place to see how folks lived in Bentonville many years ago. Staff is friendly and lots to look at. Be sure to ask questions...

We attended a wonderful birthday luncheon for a dear lady that is like my husband's 2nd mama. Nelle has been volunteering at Peel Mansion for 25 years. The room was beautifully decorated in white and pink. The grounds were immaculate. If you are traveling in the area, drop by and talk to Ms. Nelle for a little history tour of... More

If you are interested in local history and have some extra time this museum is worth a visit. The house has been nicely restored and the family history is interesting. Although only the family history sets this restored home apart from many others one may visit it was interesting. The gardens are not as extensive as expected from reading about... More

Tour guides are knowledgeable. House isn't huge so it's a nice compact tour if you find yourself in Bentonville and you want to do something a little different. Make sure you poke around in the log cabin. Lots of local Arkansas-made items for sale. Ignore the fact it's in the middle of a Walmart parking lot. The house was here... More

We arrived ready to tour the house but had to wait about 20 minutes for the next tour. The grounds are beautiful and they were setting up for a party at the time. We finally joined our group and entered the house. The docent was a charming woman who obviously loved the house a great deal but she wasn't trained... More

We've toured many old mansions and this one wasn't as impressive as I was hoping for. We arrived a few minutes before 3, we weren't aware that it closed at 3:00. The lady in the gift shop was very kind and we told her we would come back another day. She insisted we go on through and said she had... More

Take the tour it is so interesting and you can't go in the mansion without the tour. Linda was our guide and she was so knowledgeable and kind she sat and visited with us for... More

The grounds were beautiful and the house was amazing. I ended up being the only one on the last tour but it left the floor open for conversation and my tour guid was very sweet and knew a lot about the house.
