This is a great park, right by the river. There are shaded areas for picnicking. Lots of room for kids to run and play in the water.

Lots of "homeless" roam about in this park. One decided me and my family shouldn't be in his way on the pier. When he became persistent and threatening, we left. The police we nice but largely ineffective.

The park sits on the Colorado River. The displays tell a lot about the history of Yuma and the relationship between the city and the river.

At Gateway Park and all throughout Yuma you must have your dog on a leash that is no longer than 6' in length. the law enforcement does enforce this so just be aware.
