We spent a very pleasant hour at the heritage area. We visited the area as an overnight stop and spotted the steam train from the main street. The boards are very informative and the riverside a revelation.

I visited the Heritage area in May 2017. I went to the office of the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area and visited with the Ladies who work for the Heritage area. A nicer bunch of ladies you will not find and very well informed. I...More

I enjoyed walking around here. The locomotive was interesting to look over. The area grounds are nice and has a great view of the Colorado river. Looks like a nice spot for a picnic when the weather is not too hot.

I took my camera here - it was a virtual photographer's playground. So many things to see - palm trees, ducks, the train, the bridges, and the park itself. I spent about 90 minutes there with my camera clicking. I missed the prison - it...More

There really isn't much here but a nice trail along the Colorado River, there are a couple play areas for children and it looks clean and safe around the area. You can walk for a long time on the trails.

Very old train, very cool to see - if you are close by or staying at the Hilton. Unless you LOVE trains, I wouldn't drive an hour to see it. Whole visit might take 5-10 minutes.
